“It’s two-fold because it’s Thursday, November 12th which means tomorrow is Friday the 13th. And there was something kind of fun about playing with the eve of a day that is usually fraught with peril, but this day is fraught with peril for all sorts of reasons.

So I thought ‘why don’t we put that character on the show, put them on as patient?’ and then I thought ‘who the hell is gonna play that guy?’ and so I called this guy and said ‘I got a part for you, man, I need you to do for me’ and we flew him out with his aid and he came in and shot two days last week and he was phenomenal.

“I’ve probably said it too many times now but I don’t think you should throw a drowning man a baby. It doesn’t seem like a good logical thing to do for either [Robby or Baby Jane Doe]. I think Robby went home and wished that he had the capacity to be someone who could have taken that baby home for a little while. And that was probably one of the things that nagged at him along that trip, ‘if you wish you were better then why wouldn’t you come back and try?’”

“To me that is what you carry with you, it’s odd the things you remember about somebody, it’s odd the things that land with you. Usually they resonate with something that you’re vulnerable to or have experienced. With Robby, who never had a family and always wanted one, seemingly wanted one, but never allowed himself that, the idea of somebody [Louie] who had one and lost one is particularly profound. As we get into subsequent episodes, we see that Robbie‘s sense of loss pre-dates Louie, and his mentor, Adamson, it goes back to almost an original sin.”

There have been quite a few interviews from the cast (namely Isa and Shawn NGL...) where I literally squint at the screen and be like "what are you talking about?" They probably have a different viewpoint because they actually are on the show and see and film things that we don't get to see but I really have to wonder where they are drawing their conclusions from. Like with Isa's gold derby interview where she diagnosed Robby with misogyny and accused him of yelling exclusively at women was honestly a little wild. It's kind of giving rampant twitter user haha

“Even though they can’t totally help each other with their mental health, they can hear each other and both say that ‘we know we walk in similar shoes and we both know what it feels like to face these impossible stresses’ and sometimes just feeling heard is enough, you know what I mean? Enough to at least push you in the right direction. I’m not saying that the answers are right there. They both need treatment.”
