Also thoroughly enjoy trying to explain to non-writers that sometimes my characters won't cooperate and every time I try to force them to behave a certain way, they fight back. Because guess what? Changing how they'd respond in a given situation changes them into someone else. Then it's a different character, and what they hell is this character doing in this story? This isn't their story.

If Audrey Hepburn were still alive, they'd absolutely have to reshoot My Fair Lady with an assassination plot. The story demands it, truly.
