it's a trap. if someone in the states on unemployment puts in an application and doesn't come to the interview, or if they come to the interview but refuse the job offer, that gets reported to unemployment and that person can lose their unemployment benefits. then, with no income, they are suddenly desperate for wendy's job offer. it's sick.
They’re also filtering for people poor and desperate enough that a free breakfast sandwich is a big deal. Ie, people desperate enough to easily exploit.
Protip: if you're not on unemployment, this is a great way to waste the time and resources of these companies.
