“Vorgoth, does this pyramid even have an inside? It doesn’t have any doors.” Rook turned back to look at the cloaked figure. It would have been really nice if he had a face, or like, some kind of eyebrows so she could read his moods better. Because he hadn’t stopped, and was on track to float cloak first into the side of the pyramid.

“THE DOOR EXISTS,” they rumbled, “BUT CANNOT BE SEEN. PROCEED FORWARD.” Rook still expected something else; for Vorgoth to open it with a wave of his gold tipped hand, maybe. But they reached the side, and right when Rook would have expected the noise from some kind of collision, they vanished. The pyramids gleaming side ripped slightly, like water in a bowl, and then stilled.

Neve’s eyes flicked to her, “are invisible walls common in the Necropolis?”

“I’ve seen a few,” Rook approached the wall. “Usually, you can just pass right through them. It’s just an optical illusion. But I’ve never seen one that looked so convincing.” Her outstretched hand met the wall, and passed through it. It almost felt like when you walked into an old spiderweb: a brush of something soft and wispy, and then it was gone. She threw a grin at Neve over her shoulder, and stepped through.
