Atticus Finch: Little things he does with you
Atticus is a man who isn't afraid to stand up and defend what he loves, we see this in the book and the movie time and time again. You aren't an exception to that, if anyone fucks with you then Atticus is going to do everything he legally can to defend you.
He's got an old record player from his first marriage, a few records that he used to dance to with his wife before she died. Now he dances to those records with you on occasion; it reminds him of his wife, his love for her, and you with his love for you. It blends what was with what is.
During his time getting ready to defend Tom Robinson, he's stressed out all the time, who wouldn't given that there's an innocent life on the line. During this time, Atticus doesn't see you much during this time but he still comes back to bed with you at the end of the day when he really needs to sleep.
Atticus isn't one for PDA, but he'll hold your hand while walking around Maycomb. He doesn't kiss you on the lips, he doesn't plant you on his lap, and he sure as shit doesn't do anything indecent outside of his house; he's got a reputation to uphold but that won't stop him from showing his love.
A few times a month, before or after the case, Atticus will send Calpurnia home early with a full day's pay so he could just stay home with you and cook with you. He loves standing in the kitchen with you, having friendly banter as you bake or cook.
He doesn't go to the Speak Easy, he just won't because he's a lawyer and has done his fair share of defending drunks, but even lawyers need to break the law sometimes. Atticus will come home a little bit tipsy, not black out drunk because he's got things to do, but drunk enough that his cheeks are pink and his pace is a bit wobbly. He'll kiss you a lot and hold you close during these moments, making up for the time spent away from you.
Atticus smiles when he sees you taking care of Scout and Jem, it warms him up a lot just to see you caring for his kids like a parent actually would.
Atticus loves to read to you some nights, he'll lay in bed with you after the kids have gone to bed and just read to you while you're drifting off to sleep. It helps ease his mind and pull him away from whatever case he's working on.
He'll fix your clothes some times, like if you're wearing a shirt and tie (could be female or male), he'll fix it so the tie sits correctly. Or he'll polish your shoes the night before if he's got a big case the next morning, it gives him something else to focus on so he doesn't psych himself out.
Sometimes brings you tea or coffee when you're working on something. Whether it's mending a button on his shirt, helping Jem with his school work, or simply reading with Scout; he'll bring tea or coffee (based on your preferences).
Adores spending time with you, no talking needed, just you being there is making him happy.
