Take Every Chance. Drop Every Fear.

Let's start off by saying having to take this class with Mary Beth, I didn't know what to expect and better yet at first didn't want to. I then realized it wasn't just the typical write this essay or research paper it was more. It was more creativity and a harder class to take you out of your comfort zone of what is normally taught. At first I really was not looking forward to the class but as the semester went on it was not so bad. Yes I have struggled because of the different techniques used but I believe that is was more than a great learning experience. From our first project to project 3 have all challenged me to think in a different way along with the blogs on tumblr. The way she had us as a class blog with each other I also think was a good experience to have In class. Because someone like my self who barley says anything in class can express or talk about things on tumblr where other class mates will be able to view what has been posted. From the tumblr of every class mate you can learn something from everyone weather it be their interests, how their day went , or even something that caught their attention. Some people may have fount tumblr as a pain but I didn't I actually really like using this as part of a grade being submitted. As this class progressed I have definitely became better at writing and using my creative side. When class first had the first project due I thought it was going to be bad instead I didn't do that bad and realized that maybe I just tend to doubt my self too much. As the same for project three I became so frustrated because other things in my surroundings as for thinking my project sucked and as well as it not coming out how I wanted it too. But I managed thankfully... Well I hope. But anyway this class also taught me how to be Able to express my feelings toward a topic of my interest and express it in my own way. Mary Beth was also one great teacher and I would recommend her to anyone! I would have never thought this semester would have flew by this fast, all I am hoping for is great grades for the end of this semester despite all of the things happening in my life at the moment. As well as finals week being here I hope that everyone does well and studies their asses off.

As the end of the semester is rapidly approaching, I am starting to realize how stressful it is becoming. This whole semester I have not really been stressed out about anything till now. I can begin by saying that my CEP week is crazy. I have two of my hardest finals back to back. Not only are they back to back but they are also really early in the morning. What's worse? I guess the only thing I can do is start preparing for them now. Be prepared now so when the time comes I am not freaking out about not knowing something. I am preparing by using all my old notes and tests to make flash cards and just take notes on important things that were said in my lectures. (Some lectures are just so boring and I get side tracked so easily... I have to work on that for next semester.) Enough of my side comments , well along with finals approaching I have three final project due all right around the same time. The one that is due in this class I am really putting my focus towards first because it always seems like the deadlines always approach too fast. I figured that this is the final project that also requires a lot of reading materials and using my own judgment of a topic and that requires a lot of time. Trying to find scholarly articles that actually make sense is getting easier at least . It is so difficult to work on all three at a time . I guess my advice for my self and others would be just to take time out of your day to complete them. Do not rush each project at once, just get as much done on one as you could. Sometimes it is overwhelming when having to do three at once, so why not separate them and stop all the confusion. Last but not least on top of having three finals I also have two more tests before the semester is over. Talk about finally getting an overload of work all at once. Crazy how during the semester I barley had work due at the same time, now I am getting hit with everything at once...OH MY 😔. Well the best advice would be to not stress out. The semester has gone good for the last how many weeks? I should be fine to be able to finish off strong🙌🏻 It is almost the end and I have started off strong, continued to have a great semester now I just want to make sure I finish the semester with a BANG!

I'm still learning on tumblr that everyone's blogs are uniquely different. Everyone on their blogs has a different view about something, but as we re blog and post on other people's blogs we learn that we all have some common interest with eachother wheatear it be over a problem that is a occurring in the world today or just something that happened over the semester. Having these tumblrs really lets us express to our audience or views on something and let's us be heard. I personally like when we have to reblog and post about other people's blogs. It's just another way to interact with the followers on tumblr and be able to make our tumblrs grow and learn more about each student.

Oh boy! Yet another project, this project we have to research a question and add something to the topic already talked about. We also have to make a medium for our project to which extent it makes sense. For project three my project is basically being more specific than project two. My research question is going to be why are so many young adolescent girls influenced negatively by magazines in this generation. I came up with this question by when we looked at everyone's projects in the class we had to write a question and mine was "what media negatively influences adolescent girls the most?" When people answered the most repeated answer was magazines. To this topic I am adding on from a young view, from this generation, and showing all the negative sides. My argument is that media has effected one too many girls negatively in this generation and the rate of this is growing. The audience that attention I am trying to grab is young girls, people who know someone effected by media. Another audiences attention that I wouldn't mind grabbing is parents. I believe that they are just as important as the young adolescent girls reading this to know that this is a problem that can happen to their daughters at one point in their life. The audience that I'm not aiming to is men and boys, and elder people. I don't think they are as important because one old people have a different view on these things compared to this generation and boys yeah can be effected by this but not as much and their mind is different than an Adolescent girl . Some data sources that I will be using in my project are the statics of how many girls have been effected, charts to show stats, and I am going to conduct a survey of at least 10 people to add to my argument . Another thing that is going to add a lot to my argument is a real interview. I will not recoded it or video it because of people's personal wishes. My medium is going to be in the form of a magazine. I believe that it is the best way to represent my argument. One because it relates to the research question and two it can let young girls be able to read something that can relate to them. I just hope that my project is going to be specific enough. It will get more specific when I begin to do more research because like a lot of things you end up changing your thoughts on something. I will just make minor tweaks to my project. This is a issue that has been around for a long long long time and it just keeps reoccurring.

I have to say class on Friday was a good one. It was very interesting to see they way everyone interpreted the project. I loved being able to walk around look at the projects get your own opinion on what it was about and observing. If you had questions you were able to read the artist statement and see why what was done each way. The way some people were so creative with the projects was nice to see. I had so many favorite projects. All the projects were well thought out and a lot or effort was put into them. Even the very simple ones told a huge story. Well many others had many colors, objects and even one was able to be used. Everyone's topics where all different and unique. You have to wonder if any of the topics that were used in the project, ever related to someone's life? I have to say Mary Beth does more than a great job making us use a different side of thinking when it comes to these projects. In the beginning it was hard to understand what she really wanted but after this second project I have a better idea. It is nothing like I've done before but I thought it was a great way to be able to still write but also use your creative side. I love being able to show a visual side in every project that is submitted . It gives a good valence for people who like both sides . Not only do I like her projects I also like these blogs . In the beginning I really did not understand them but now it is nice to read everyone's blogs in the class and see the differences between blogs. Yes sometimes I may rush at like 11:45 to get them done on Sunday but after I write mine I always go back and read what else everyone had to say. And for the next thing we are doing in class the "debate" I love listening to them but sometimes I am always too shy to participate. Hopefully I can put my shyness to the side and at least say something in the debate.

It’s around that time again. It’s mid term semester and people are either starting to slack or actually trying to work their asses off to continue to do good. For me it seems as if I was starting to slack but I knew I couldn’t . So from now until the end of the semester I really am going to have to work to achieve the goals I have set for the end of the semester. Not only do I have to keep doing we’ll but I have to keep on top of things . It would make no sense to start slacking now… I have put all this effort in and it just wouldn’t be worth it to give up. It can get overwhelming at some points . Like this week I have two projects due, along with two papers and still have to study for a big test coming up. It all seems stressful but I just have to manage my time wisely.

For my second project I would like to explore the issue of why children are starting to grow up too fast in today's world. There are many different things that I could explore in this topic. It could start with what makes children grow up too fast . Is it their peers,media, or even their parents? Along with growing up too fast I could even explore the topic of why "babies are having babies." And explain how it is becoming a growing issue in 2015, and see if the rates are the same as they were before or if this problem is really increasing among us. I'm still trying to decide a topic within in this topic of growing up to fast that I would like to cover.

From the beginning of the semester to now, I have seen a wide variety of blogs. Blogs such as what peoples interests are, current topics being talked about, things that inspire people, or things that even make people just laugh. At first I didn't think I was going to like these blogs but after doing them and reading what other people think, I believe that it is worth doing. To be able to let people write what they are thinking and have other people read it without having to say who they are if they don't want to can really get their voices heard. Some blogs have really informed me more or better on topics that I had no clue about. You can also tell when people take pride in their blogs and are on them a lot. You can tell because Some bloggers themes are different or even their profiles are very personalized.

Traditionally in a family men are known as the breadwinners and women are known as the caregivers, but today there are more single family homes. What happens when your in a single family home ? Do many people look down on the non traditional ways? The picture of two parent house hold seems to be disappearing while more single parent houses are growing. As the single parent households are growing the traditional thinking is gone. You now have one parent trying to take on the role of both mother and father. Not only does this take a lot of effort but it also shows lots of independence . Growing up in a single parent household I have seen my mom do extraordinary things for me. I have personally seen here take on the role of both mother and father. I believe she has done a good job. Between her working extra hard to make money to support us and give me everything I needed. Not only did she do the "breadwinner" things she also was a "caregiver." After work she would come home and still take care of me and the household things that needed to be done. No matter how hard the circumstances. From if the laundry needed to be done, dinner, cleaning then house, taking out the trash or even the grass needed to be cut. She didn't depend on no one to do it for her but herself. So when thinking about the traditional marriage/ family sometimes that picture perfect idea doesn't always happen. Even though that picture perfect family was not what I grew up with I now appreciate my mom more. I see how she would bend over backwards for me just to make sure I was receiving anything else like any other kid. I don't believe that the single parent household should be looked down upon. I feel as if it should get more credit because of all the extra work that was put in to live day by day. In today's world how would you define a family? Would you still believe in the traditionally thinking or have you been in a situation where you have seen one person take on the role of the caregiver and the breadwinner? Do you see a one parent household as a traditional family?
