it's almost been one year with lgcminnie and honestly, i'm kinda sad! this is the longest running muse i've ever had in legacy and she's been the strongest the entire time. and it's just sad to drop her literally two weeks before her official one year but i have no choice 😔
i had a really great time in legacy! i love every story line i've created with her and the new friends i've made. but it's clear that she no longer suits legacy anymore and i'm really tired of begging for replies/threads. so i will be leaving legacy entirely (haeun's final run ever <3 at least she finally debuted AHAHAHA)
i'm going to miss everyone! and i'm still findable on twitter (and discord) if you have it!! i'm mostly going to be on my multi, where i will be housing minnie for now.
i love you all <333 thank you for the past year!!!

Honestly, it felt like he'd been in a fog. Going, never resting. Doing, and no longer thinking.
But tonight he felt awake. It was as if somebody really wanted him to be.
Oh, yeah, must be you.
"Mmkay." He laughed, a soft sound of amusement that brought warmth into his eyes. "You are the boss tonight, Minnie." Seyoon was always down for something wild and fun. Let's be real, he'd never been a good kid in the first place.
"What are we doing?" He found his cap and slipped it on before they stepped out. "Is this let's go rob a bank type of night? What?" He raised a brow. "You did say wild. We could fill a duffel bag and ditch the country. Run off to some island and chill in a resort while we wait for the police to catch up." Seyoon was only teasing, though. As much as fate's been tempting him, he'd never be able to embrace a life of crime.
the ease to which he agreed was expected and minnie was grinning as they began to head out. she had a cap of her own and a hoodie. normally being so dressed down around seyoon might've triggered some mild panic but looking like she just rolled out of bed may suit their cause a bit better.
"hmm, okay i wasn't thinking full bonnie and clyde," minnie said with a laugh. though the running away to some island with seyoon did sound promising. "no i was thinking less rebellious for normal people and more rebellious for people like us, silly."
the night was young and full of possibility. for the first time in a while, it felt like the world was at her fingertips. she slipped a pokemon face mask on, giving seyoon an eye-smile. "what's something you haven't had the chance to do yet because we've been stuck in legacy's walls?"
she was thinking they could go to mapo-gu. they weren't really dressed for the nightlife but they were the age range of the typical crowd of that area. there was more things to do there too. minnie skipped towards the train station.
"maybe after this we can start our life of crime." she laughs, giving seyoon a wink. "i'll get you something nice. for being arm candy."
hi guys! i'm moving out of state so i will be going on a (brief) hiatus but i will be coming back in full force! (i should only be gone for next week's ac — our internet is getting disconnected on tuesday)
that being said, i will be around on discord in between packing! if you are interested in coming up with a thread, please like or reply!
the end of 2025 changed something in her. she suspected it was the showcase — the glitz, the glamour and the travel. she had been so enamoured with the new world that's opened up to her, it felt like the debut bug finally bit her. sure, she was a little antsy to debut, but perhaps even antsier at the prospect of all of her freedom being stripped from her.
whatever it was, it was the exact thing that pushed her down the halls, determined to do something, anything to have that last stroke of rebellion before she has to hunker down the rest of her life. she was heading towards the front doors, making a pit stop for water. just as she's passing the last few studios in the corridor, her peripheral catches someone. in that split second, she's able to register who it is and makes a detour into the studio. she drops her bag by the door and sprints to the speakers, turning off the music.
"we are going to do something fun," minnie declares, closing the laptop of evil and walking over to her bag once more. there was a finality in the way that she spoke, as if it were fact, an order. there was no room to argue. "i want to do something absolutely wild. and you're coming with me."
what they were going to do, who knows. maybe he'll just come up with something. after all, he was the more adventurous of the two. she turned to him with a grin, bag on her shoulder once more. "lets be bad kids tonight, yoonie."
everything she needed to be able to perform this song without a hitch. the lack of a deadline gave her the freedom to take her time learning the skills she needed to master. it has been a few months since she started working on it, amongst other things, but it was starting to feel as if she wasn't making any progress. she had hit the middle point of most of the skills where it was just tweaking and refining her technique to perfect it. as tedious as it sounded, she needed to be consistent before thinking she could perform any song with her newly cultivated prowess.
in those months she had discovered that while she could go decently high in terms of notes, she couldn't go that deep. unfortunately she wouldn't achieve that beautiful tone mezzo-sopranos have. though increasing her range became another one of her goals.
stamina was very important during this journey. minnie had great stability and power while singing. unfortunately, because she was so quick to project, she often ran out of breath. while she typically avoids this when performing with a choreography due to her not needing to project her voice, she knew that if she were ever to do static performances, she would have to work on this as well. she would already run laps in the dance studio and sing but that wouldn't do much for increasing her breath in the way she needed.
she had vocalised her need to one of the vocal coaches mentioned sip breathing and staircase breaths. she tried both, opting to use these techniques randomly throughout the day rather than during a specific practise time. during designated singing practise hours, she did an extensive vocal warmup.
a part of her was upset with herself for not focusing on this aspect of the list sooner. after a week of different breathing techniques, she felt like she could hold notes longer, both statically and while dancing. it was a bit of a face-palm moment but the improvement had given another little push.
now here she was: becoming more consistent in her vocal stability and control. realistically minnie knew this project would take a while. it was part of the reason why she didn't set a specific deadline. although mentally, she would love if she could have this song ready to perform before the end of the january. it was incredibly unrealistic. she still had more aspects on the list to start working on then integrate with her current skill set.
the slump made her regret not telling a soul. no one knew what she was working on this song — or even that she was working on something. it was a little lonely at times (like now) but there was also something refreshing about doing this on her own; pushing herself with her own grit and determination. there wasn't outside sources telling her what to fix or how to fix it: it was empowering.
if minyoung were to be completely honest with herself, the performance might be ready by march. it would be possible if she continued with the same pace she has prior to the end of the year break. she doesn't fear losing momentum. perhaps after the weeks without practise she'll come back with renewed energy and feel ready to jump right into the next skill on the list.
she hopes so, at least. she really wanted to whip this song out during karaoke and stun everyone. their reactions would be priceless.

he hands her the peach iced tea without needing to be told twice. he already expected she’d pick this flavor, even though he still offered a choice. he prefers lemon anyway. “that bad, huh?” he murmurs, nodding toward the speakers. “you’re gonna be great, minnie. i’ve seen you push harder than most debuted idols. when your turn comes, you’ll blow everyone away.”
once the conversation steered towards him and what he wanted to tell her, akio’s expression turned softer, almost shy. which is very unlike him, who’s usually bright and loud. somehow, opening up about junkyu to someone is making him want to crawl into a ditch and die, not because he’s ashamed but because he just feels so happy he could burst. and that hasn’t happened to him in a long time… maybe not ever, actually.
“it… yeah. it worked out.” he takes a sip of tea to buy himself a second. then another. then he clears his throat because he realizes she’s waiting. “and uh… it’s–” he glances away, then back at her, eyes warm but nervous.
“it’s a guy.”
there’s a little laugh, embarrassed and slightly breathy. “i feel like you already suspected that somehow. you’re good at reading people and i’m… bad at hiding things. worst combination.” for a moment, he just lets himself say it. “he’s someone i’ve known for a while. i’ve never felt that way about a guy before, but he’s just… ” his words trail off into a fond smile he doesn’t bother hiding. “no, actually, i’ve never felt that way about anyone before. it just happened and it was complicated because he used to be in…” he hesitates. would junkyu be okay with him telling? they aren’t technically boyfriends yet, and even if they were, it has to remain somewhat secret. but it’s minnie. minnie would never betray him.
“he used to be in versus. then he left. you remember… junkyu?” he has to say the name at this point, because so many members left versus that it could get confusing. he doesn't get in too many details after that, instead just saying that junkyu is good to him, and that right now, he's happy.
when he's done, he nudges her knee lightly with his own, rubbing the back of his neck. “anyway, enough about my love life.” his tone turns teasing but stays gentle. “what about you? how’s um… seyoon?” he doesn’t want to pressure her into saying anything. maybe there’s nothing to tell, or maybe she’s not reading to. but he’s curious, and invested at this point.
his confidence in her abilities was nice to hear. most instructors didn't give them much to work off. mostly criticisms and what they should do better. although isn't that the point? the lack of criticism means that aspect is decent, right? it didn't work for minnie. she was the type to like to hear the praise. (thanks, akio!)
minnie's eyes widened when akio's expression softened. this person is precious to him; that much is clear. she stares, waiting for the revelation only to realise that oh, the gender was supposed to be the surprise. "oh— wow!" she says, although it's obviously forced. it was clear that minnie didn't really care about the gender. ( and a part of her probably knew but she digresses. ) she scrunches her face apologetically, knowing that she wasn't really convincing. "sorry," she says with a chuckle, "maybe i did guess that part from before."
though lame recovery aside, minnie's expression softened as well. akio seemed to really treasure this person — junkyu — a lot. the confession of who it was actually garnered a more genuine surprise out of her. "oh wow, him? i wouldn't think. he always had such a cool aura about him. i would've assumed he was married to the life or something."
at least that reaction was genuine.
minnie leaned her head on his shoulder, the smile ever present on her face. "it's nice to see you like this. happy, i mean. really happy." it seemed like the clouds that plagued him before were nowhere to be seen. that's all minnie could ask for. it really sounded as though akio has found his person. well, he technically found his person before but now he has him. that was nice to think.
"oh—" the name brings a blush to minnie's cheeks easily. she straightens at the mention. no use denying what akio obviously knew but ... "i mean, it's not like anything is happening," she says cooly, eyes suddenly more fascinated with the floor than making direct eye contact with her best friend. she fidgets in place. "we just... enjoy each other's time. we've always been friends."
she bit her bottom lip nervously. being friends didn't stop her from wanting more. but the drives, the dinners, hell, even the kisses — she and seyoon had always seemed to naturally orbit one another. minnie falls silent for a moment. her heart was drumming in her ears. every thrum was deafening. she was sure akio could hear. " — but i did invite him over for chuseok. he met my family."
Melbourne, Australia. In Micha's eyes, the second-largest city in Australia is now considered a scary place with its weird-looking bugs. Yes, she knew enough about this country if you count watching a mermaid show at the ripe age of ten, but you don't see any mermaids flopping around. To her disappointment.
While it was still beautiful to some degree, if one more gigantic bug flew past her face, Micha might just scream. Instead, she clings to her friends, pretending like her skin wasn't crawling at this very moment.
"Have you ever heard of the drop panda before?" She asked the other, simply happy that Minnie wanted to accompany her on a small journey through the town. They had a short break, creating a moment to sneak off to the beach and enjoy the weather.
Looping her arms with Minnie's, she pursed her lips in thought. "I know they are myths, but a pretty popular one for tourists. I would never go on a tour in the woods, that's when a big spider drops into my clothes and comes home with me."
minnie was never going to get used to travelling, she thinks. the feeling of wonder never ebbs away. she was excited to explore places unknown to her piqued her interest. her goal during their travels of the showcase was to learn something about every place they visit. first thing she realised was that it was really, really hot.
she figures that australia is similar to what the world looked like during the jurassic period. why would she think that, you ask? because there was giant everything here. flying in, she witnessed the terrain of the continent — because it was an entire continent, wow! — and witnessed the red dirt and sprawling badlands before it gave away to the city. there wasn't much separating the different terrain, either.
"no, what are drop pandas? that sounds cute!" minnie said, eyes wide at all the differences between australia and south korea. namely how spacious everything was. it was nice to be with micha. minnie didn't feel guilty for being excited about everything. "i did read about those big crabs. they're huge here. coconut crabs? they're like as big as dogs, or something. you think we'll see one here?"
minnie didn't have a clue of where they were but the adventure felt promising. she leaned into micha with an excited squeal. "what should we do first?"
EVENT: SIDE EVENT 025
POST TYPE: STARTER FOR @lgcminnie
TITLE: SWAY WITH ME
while milan still doesn't completely understand the concept of quietness during a social event, this year's halloween party theme is her favourite by far. just going around, listening to music, dancing around and enjoying herself? that's right up her alley. since putting her headphones on, she has been waltzing from one booth to another - sometimes quite literally. so far, she spent most of her time around the kpop booth, busting moves with other legacy trainees and artists. old songs brought back memories and nostalgia, meanwhile new songs felt refreshing. had her dress not left her shoulder exposed, she likely would've been drenched in sweat half an hour in.
she had moved away from the kpop booth from some fresh air (and to skip a song that she didn't particularly like), skipping to a random channel. perhaps destiny made it so that right at that moment, she noticed minnie.
the idol rushes to her friend, white, pink and red fabric flying behind her. without even greeting her, she changes the other girl's channel to match hers. latin jazz? milan wonders for a short second how she got there before shrugging the thought away. who cares really. what matters right now is that minyoung doesn't seem to be her usual self. it's impossible for her to read her friend's mind, but perhaps dancing together could make her smile again. thus, she grabs her friends' hands in hers with a mischievous smile. first her hips, then her shoulders, she sways to the rhythm. she catches her fiends' gaze, a playful glint her eyes. she considers it playful, but her boyfriend called it flirty. whatever it is, hopefully it draws minyoung in, and maybe for a moment, make her forget whatever has been dampening her mood
she was eyeing the door with more than just interest. music was nothing more than background noise at this point. with enough mustered courage, she's sure she'd slip away unnoticed. it was just her luck that every time she felt like it was the right time, she was thwarted.
just when she was ready to brave a step towards the exit, a flurry of red, pink and white obstructed her line of vision. soft hands guided hers to sway to the music. minnie's eyes meet that of her friend's. in that moment, all she wanted to do was cry.
( but that would draw far too much attention. )
she musters up a forced smile. it doesn't quite reach her eyes. she sways with milan, matching her energy to the beat of the music she was switched to. but her eyes lacked their spark and mischief. minnie continues to dance to the music, knowing there was no escape from milan's watchful eye. her escape will have to wait.
she gave milan's hands two squeezes, this time giving her a more genuine smile.

"i'm not ungrateful," dom scowled. spat it really, as if he had a bad taste in his mouth. "i trained for four years, minyoung. four. in that time, i could've fast-tracked my degree. i could've enrolled in knpu and became certified to work as a police officer. that was what was expected of me but i insisted on staying and training, and i'm ungrateful?"
the water bottle scrunched in his hand, its crackle echoing along the hollow mirrors that lined the room. he couldn't look at her, not when her palms were pressed up to her eyes like she was willing herself not to cry in front of him. there was also this discomfort in his chest, one that weighed heavily around his heart, but he couldn't even begin to process what it meant.
"you just have to make it about yourself." the words came out before he could stop them. what was he saying? what was he trying to say? "everything has to be about you. even my debut, sarang's debut—it's about you and how you didn't make it." that wasn't what she meant. "when they announced the results, i wanted to celebrate it with you, but i couldn't. because i felt bad. because i felt guilty that you—"
dom let out a frustrated, almost painful, sigh and ran a hand through his hair. his eyes flicked away from her but to no avail; they landed on her reflection in the opposite mirror. there was something else that bothered him. out of all the names she'd listed ...
"you know seyoon?" he wanted to ask about akio too, but akio seemed like someone who would get along with minnie. seyoon, though? they didn't run in the same circle. sure, minnie was friendly with everyone, but to put seyoon's name with his and milan's and kyoka's? when were they that friendly? more importantly, how did he not realize?
minnie froze, turning to look at dom. no... he didn't say that.... he would never say something like that to her....
for a moment, the world was nothing but white noise. she couldn't see dom, she couldn't see anything. the moment was fleeting but everything was slow to come into focus. the first thing she noticed was that she was rubbing her chest (when did she start doing that?) the next, her hearing. it came abruptly; turning into a steady ringing in her ears. the pain in her chest didn't ease. it seemed to grow. his words replayed in her mind. every repetition made a dull thunk! in her chest. it seemed to echo so loudly that minnie questioned when she became this hollow. she then realised her eyes had been wide this entire time. fear? no. hurt. betrayal. should she fix her expression? no....his words had torn through her with serrated edges. everything in its wake was destroyed. that's why she felt so hollow.
minnie could only think to moments where she could've given him such an impression. all she could think of were moments where she shrank herself. moments where she hid herself or stepped aside entirely for the sake of someone else. even nights where she stayed up, sacrificing her sleep, to bring food for friends. sacrifice. sacrifice. sacrifice. her brain doesn't come up with moments where she demanded to be the main character. all she could recall were these moments where she didn't put herself first. her wants, her feelings, her well being.
time and time again.
and now....
her eyes dim. her shoulders relax and her posture straightens. she no longer cares when the tears fall. even with the way she physically steels herself, she couldn't stop her hands from shaking. her nerves were frayed, raw. she was so fucking tired of it all. everything was about her huh? maybe it should be. maybe it finally should be —
why should she continue to care?
"guilty? why would you feel guilty?" she asks in a flat and even tone, as if she just hadn't been so worked up that she was raising her voice moments prior. it's an eerie calm; like the stillness before a storm hits. her eyes are not on dom, still, but rather on the wall behind him. distant. far off. it's hard to decipher if she's speaking to him or for herself. "the only tears i ever shed over news of debut were never for myself."
she chuckles but it comes out more of a scoff. dry, airy and devoid of any humor.
"i'm more heartbroken that i can't be with you guys. i'm more heartbroken that i will not be there anymore by your sides." the tears well up again but she forces her voice to stay even. surprisingly, no tears fall. "maybe it is selfish, because it's such an amazing opportunity for you guys. maybe i don't want to admit that i don't matter much in the grand scheme of things. maybe it doesn't bother you that we won't see each other for months, or have very little contact after being together every day for years. maybe i never mattered that much to begin with."
she nods, tongue poking the inside of her cheek. no, it was selfish to think they would ever mourn training days. of those nights where they uplifted each other no matter how exhausted they were. they wouldn't think of it fondly. her gaze shifts to the floor. to the space between them. it may as well been a canyon. she can't recall a time where she's been so far physically from him. not since the beginning, she thinks. her attention shifts to him when he brings up seyoon. her brows furrowed in confusion.
"yes," she says, eyes narrowed. there was an edge to her tone. she was defensive but her tone implied that she expected him to know that. "you know i know seyoon. we take rides in your car all of the time. i thought that's why you let him borrow it."
idol schedules are often sketchy, but during year-end, time flows differently. schedules, travels, practices, rehearsals, content filming, ect... milan stopped bothering with keeping up with their schedule after their first year-end season. that's why she hadn't realized how long it had been since minyoung and she had exchanged more than a few words. for her to have even missed the signs of something being wrong in her best friend's hit her like a truck, and she finds herself sitting on the practice room floor as she rereads the messages. while she doesn't personally know dom, the idol knows just how close her friend is with him. and so, the words 'friendship ending fight' make her raise her eyebrows in surprise.
[ my pretty love minnie 🩷 ]
💬 wait what? what happened?
minnie takes longer to respond than she probably should have.
she had hesitated over the video call button, wanting desperately to hear her best friend's voice but knowing the chances of her being available to were slim to none. she sat there, frozen with her thumb poised over the button. she stared at the button for far too long before ultimately opting to stick to text messages.
if they spoke over the phone, she might've cried, which is the last thing milan needs during year-end preparations. being in a hotel room that was shared would definitely ensure that someone would see. she didn't need to answer a billion questions of why she was crying and who she was on the phone with. not to mention she wouldn't be able to get into the details with milan. someone was always listening.

┈➤ i don't know what happened i feel like i wasn't myself the whole time. i was so excited to see him but it just went so bad... we do not fight
┈➤ we never fight. never.
┈➤ like .... he was just so upset about debut. but he was being mean. like really mean. he asked me why i was at the company so late when it's "not as if i have anything to prepare for"
┈➤ it hurt my feelings....why would he talk to me like that? i know i'm a trainee but that doesn't mean i'm nothing....
┈➤ i guess nothing really compares to debut but ....
┈➤ i snapped. i've just been so upset lately
┈➤ and i was upset before even speaking to dom... it wasn't his fault...maybe it was a misunderstanding ...but i got really upset really fast ....
┈➤ it feels like i lost him. i feel so lopsided. like there's a space inside that's empty now. we haven't spoken since....
the moment she's in line for the green carpet, she wants to turn around and go back to the dorms. halloween was her favourite holiday: she looked forward to it every year. this year she just... didn't feel like her heart was in it. she felt conflicted. she didn't want to go inside and plaster a smile on her face. she didn't want to do gags of her hat "accidentally" falling to reveal remy.
she just wanted a moment. just a moment. a moment where everything was quiet. where she wasn't expected to pretend she was calm and happy. she was stressed, she was anxious, she was worried — she just wanted a moment to feel and let it pass.
minnie realised too late she didn't have any energy left to do this.
she wanders listlessly through the booths. starting with kpop and slowly making her way around, she doesn't linger too long at any one booth. she's distracted. whenever someone drifts over to talk, minnie engages for only a little. heading to the next booth was usually an excuse. the excuse failed a few times, with friends following the booth hopping for a bit. hip hop, rock, alternative, pop, jazz, blues — she kept going round and round the maze.
an hour in and she was exhausted.
to her credit, she tries. when she knows she has no choice but to interact, she does. she smiles, she jokes, she flirts. she hugs, jumps, and twirls. everything seems fine when eyes are on her. the moment she can slip away, she does. when she's found again, it's an excuse of expecting everyone to have been behind her, or she simply didn't notice. any questions asking if she's alright are easily deflected. she's hwang minyoung.
everything was fine.
she doesn't join the noraebang battle. that one raised plenty of flags to a few. a quick "my throat hurts a little, is all," is quick to relax some. minnie doesn't last another hour. she had intended to make most of the night. the event lasted until 3 and it was barely 10:30. she bides her time until everyone is distracted before slipping out.
down the halls and into the night, minnie gulps the crisp air to calm her system. she wasn't crying (thank god) but felt as though that even if she wanted to, she wouldn't be able to. her hands shook. she combat the feeling by pressing her palms against the concrete of the building. she leans into her hands, head down. deep breaths, deep breaths.
her phone buzzed. it would be pointless to check what the message said. she knew someone was already asking where she went. minnie turned, pressing her back against the building instead. the cold seeps through her costume. it made her realise that she had been running hot this entire time. the cold calms her. it was good to focus on the feeling of her body cooling down to match the temperature around her.
minnie's phone buzzed a few more times. it wouldn't be long until someone came to grab her. who? she wasn't sure. she leaned her head back, eyes dancing between the few stars she could see in the sky. it wasn't quiet outside: cars driving past and people walking down the sidewalks in animated conversations. even with the ambiance of the night, she felt calmer. it was as quiet as it would ever get.
she just hoped no one comes soon. she wanted a few more minutes alone before she has the slip on the mask again.
she couldn't help but gawk at the stores inside of the airport (and the prices). there was so much to purchase before even stepping foot within the country! in attempts to contain her excitement, she simply recorded her trek through the airport. it felt a bit annoying to be the only one excited. no one else was impressed like she was. she tried to keep quiet as she recorded. sometimes her excited squeal was a bit too loud.
the plane ride was alleged to be short by the other trainees. the flight felt like it lasted forever. not in a bad way. minnie was entertained for at least the first thirty minutes just analysing the plane and reading through the safety pamphlet. ( she definitely noted how no one did the same. )
the remaining two hours was spent playing the silly games available on the screens they put on the back of the seats. she also got some sleep in at the end and it was surprisingly comfortable. she knows by the end of the showcase she'd feel like riding a plane was normal. but that indifference was for later. she was going to cherish this feeling.
once they stepped out into the chilly evening air, minnie's eyes widened. logically, she knew japan and south korea looked nothing alike. witnessing it felt surreal. it felt like the possibilities were endless. the look of wonder didn't leave her face the entire journey to the hotel. the lights, the people, the energy — it was alluring. minnie wanted to be out and about immediately.
( that didn't happen. )
minnie never had her patience challenged like this. she was antsy to get out into the streets of tokyo. the lights she saw outside of the hotel's window were enticing. like a siren's song, she was being beckoned to join the adventure that awaited her just outside of the hotel's doors. before she was fit to burst if she wasn't allowed out, it was finally her turn.
pictures snapped, (a lot of) food was eaten and minnie was officially in love with tokyo. perhaps she should've practised japanese a bit more, if only to be able to speak and converse with locals. lightbulb! she should make that her new focus when she gets back. a lot of her time was spent sitting and soaking in the feeling of being in a different country. people watching was fun. there was also so much to do that she felt almost dizzy with possibilities.
there wasn't enough time for minnie to go everywhere. if she weren't being watched she was sure she could spend all day walking around. unfortunately, not only did she have to share her time out, she also was limited. they weren't on vacation. the primary focus had to be the performance.
a list was made. it was comprised of places she was unable to visit and restaurants she wanted to try. she was already itching to come back and they hadn't even officially left yet. back at the hotel, she spent some time considering when would be an optimal time to get back. she figured she could for the upcoming vacation...
if she could spend her life travelling like this, she would be satisfied.
she felt absolutely ridiculous holding that position. not because the move itself was, but because she had convinced herself long ago that she just wasn’t meant for this type of dancing. she was a ballerina through and through, imprisoned behind a very rigid set of rules that she had a hard time getting out of. it had been, and still was, her biggest challenge as a kpop trainee. and part of why she didn’t think she could ever debut in an idol group. she wasn’t the first ballerina to transition into kpop, but perhaps she also still feared what her family would say.
still, she’d been fascinated by the way minnie moved so freely and so unapologetically. watching her was a treat, both for the eyes and for her own sense of freedom. she was growing into a young woman now, discovering herself, finally out of her parents’ grasp. so what if she wanted to feel a little sexier, or just let loose a little and have fun?
“unnie!” she whined softly in the middle of laughing, covering her face with both hands as her cheeks flushed. “you can’t just say that so casually!” she wanted to protest, say it wasn’t true, but that would be pointless. when she peeks through her fingers, she saw that minnie was still smiling, playful but encouraging. that sight alone made nari take a deep breath with a new resolve. if minnie could make this look fun and natural, she should at least try.
“okay, okay,” she muttered, positioning herself again. “lower back, right? lift and lower…” she moved carefully at first, almost robotically, like she was thinking too hard about very motion. her posture was perfect, as always, but maybe overly so. the telltale sign of a ballerina who was terrified of doing something inelegant. she caught sight of herself in the mirror and groaned, but refused to give up.
she tried to relax her shoulders a little bit, and add more rhythm into her movements. it was small, still a bit hesitant, but she caught it. that slight bounce. she immediately stopped, too excited to go on, and immediately grabbed minnie’s arm. “unnie, did you see?! i think i did it!”
minnie's eyes remained focused on nari's rear. it was surprisingly distracting. "i can't help it!" she insists, making a squeezing motion with her hands. she had never considered it before, but maybe she does like butts over any other attribute. muscles were nice but butts....hmm.
( she wondered who had nice butts in the company....)
she lets nari try and figure it out. minnie preferred to not hover. it encouraged people to learn more on their own merit than by her word. she waited, watching closely. then it happened: the slight bounce. minnie's eyes widened and nari grabbed her arm. "oh my god you did! okay, okay, okay!"
minnie excitedly guided nari back into position. "okay so you felt that bounce, right? the moment you come down from the bounce, you lift again. it's like you use the recoil to keep going." she shows nari, going faster than the speed she currently had nari at. "the moment you can time it, you can go faster. it looks so appealing, right?"
she bent down to grab her phone off the floor. "and now we can do it to music! it's the best practise." she opened up her music app. unsure with what to put, she hands the phone over to nari. "put a song on! one that you think you can throw it back to."

the titular song of the movie soundtrack. the song is whimsical and in minnie's opinion (who has never been to france) encapsulates what she anticipates would be the feeling upon entering paris for the first time. it gives off the feeling of twirling through the streets, weaving through the cafe tables. the vocals of the song are sweet. it's sung in a style minnie has never attempted before and would love to make a cover one day. (as if learning french is that easy.) the song is also nostalgic for minnie, who first watched the movie when she was 7 years old with her father. it's not the reason she loves cooking, although after watching the movie she asked to make some of the dishes with her father.
"come be with me!" minnie demanded cutely, holding out her arms for the other to join her as she laid on the couch. she even scooted over to make room for @lgckyoka. she knows that soon nova will be busy again which meant being unable to see kyoka for the same amount of time she couldn't see milan.
(she's trying not to be upset about it, okay?)
kyoka had been busy with what minnie imagined was prep work to learn previous choreographies and line adjustments. and soon, minnie was going to be in a different country. which reminded her....
"what do you want me to get you from japan? i'll be in tokyo!" she was excited for her first ever trip. she's never been to jeju, let alone tokyo. it was her first trip ever. airport and everything. she was so ready! "you have to tell me now, so you have part of me in the dorm with you."
