it is a long and angry post so you have been warned 

 I’m really sick of seeing Jason Grace/Piper McLean slander in their own tag, and I’m really, really sick of seeing people justify their breakup/his death as good writing.

HAPPY 26th BIRTHDAY to JASON GRACE

“sorry we’re late,” jason said. “is this the guy who needs killing?”

Can I please have a fic with Jason and Piper months after his death. Piper somehow gets coaxed back into the war Apollo is fighting. On a mission specifically directed towards her, she sees him. Jason.

But it’s not him. He’s dead.

How can he be here? And why is he attacking her? Why is he trying to hurt her?

Turns out his death many months ago was a trick of the mist. Turns out the Emporer kept Jason only to brainwash him. Turns out his death and his return was all a ruse to break Piper. And turns out that this dark Jason’s only prerogative is to end Piper because she’s a threat to the Emporers rise to power.

But Piper refuses to believe that her Jason is gone. She refuses to believe the man that she loves is this cruel being before her.

The two engage in one on one combat. Piper refuses to hurt Jason, doing everything in her power to talk him down. But her charmspeak isn’t working, not this time.

Somehow the two end up on the edge of a cliff, just like their first real memory together. Piper is dangling over the edge, Jason the only thing keeping her from falling to her death. She’s looking up at him, tears in her eyes, knowing he could drop her at any moment. So she says softly...

“Jason... I know the person I love is in there. I know he’s stronger than this... in fact, he’s the strongest, most daring, most brilliant person I know. He’s... the love of my life...”

And Jason responds, “The love of your life is dead.”

And Pipers reply is simple, “Then I don’t want to be in this world without him by my side. And if he loves me and feels the same way, then he would do anything to protect me.” And just like that she let’s go of him, freefalling over the side of the cliff.

That’s the trigger point. That’s the breakthrough.

In less time it takes to blink, she’s in Jason’s strong arms, soaring through the sky. Tears are streaming down both of their cheeks. He couldn’t lose her. Not again. Not this time.

Piper wasn’t sure that was going to work but she meant what she said. And it paid off.

She has the love of her life back and she’s never letting go.
