Working on the project, Grace has given more meetings than he had done parent teacher meetings- he's gotten good at being able to whipe up a whole meeting on astrophage updates with only 10 minutes warning

Buuuuut Grace is dogshit at telling others when he needs a recess to go pee! Especially when he's in the zone of talking and explaining things.

When he's seated or not the one hosting the meeting, he has very obvious tells, ones that Stratt has picked up on and can discreetly dismiss Grace so he can go to the washroom

But,,,when he's the one talking, the one pacing the room while explaining calculations and graphs well,,no one can tell he's having a potty emergency until it's running down his legs👀

Omgggg Grace doesn't even break his stride, he's still pacing the front of the room, talking as his jeans are getting progressively more and more soaked- everyone can see it, it's obvious but,,,Grace hasn't said anything, he isn't reacting so, they don't either.

Ofc the moment the meeting is over and the last person files out, Grace breaks down and starts crying because he wet himself infront of so many people!!! They're going to laugh at him, they're going to tell others!

Now Grace is standing there, very much realizing he is out of his depth and perhaps not the master he's been boasting about xD

Poor Simon is standing there, legs crossed as he's trying very hard to follow along with Grace's ramblings (Grace is stalling because hr may have forgotten a step and is trying to remember it)

Hugugytfvy omg TRUTH

"Ship has program that make Grace remember when Grace pee go?"

Grace rubs the back of his neck, "it did but, I turned it off because I'm pretty sure I've mastered that skill."

Cut to that night, Grace is fast asleep and Rocky is standing at the main computer and is like;

"Mary turn potty training back on, please."

"Of course, Rocky. Bladder maintenance protocol is back on."

Omgimgomh yesss👀👀👀

Simon is vaguely aware how Grace and the other two had been in a coma and given amnesia so it'd kinda make sense to have a potty training manual incase the induced amnesia blanked out some of the more important memories-

Ofc Grace refuses to tell Simon that manual was solely included for him xD but hey,,,it's finding new use!! So the potty training operations are put back on (Grace had turned them off a while ago)

So if he just gets no stickers from stratt for emergency pottying with the cup... Does ilyukhina pick out a sticker and slap it on his chart for him

👀 he'd be shy but, if he was desperate enough, Grace would use the cup! Like, he'd have to already be leaking or seconds from pissing himself for him to actually use it- thankfully it doesn't lose him any stickers on the chart because technically he didn't pee himself but it also wasn't in the toilet so, no sun sticker but also no raincloud one😌

Oh she 10000% would! She'd probably think quickly and grab the nearest drink and pour it all over Grace's pants so that Stratt thinks Ilyukhina was being clumsy!♡♡

I have not read the book yet, but I've heard ilyukhina and grace were pretty good friends, but I feel like she's much more gremlin than Stratt, a lot less likely to take him to a toilet and a lot more likely to just throw a bottle or a cup at him with amusement.

Poor Grace was looking for other files but happened to stumble upon *that* file

And suddenly he remembers those moments in Stratt's office, in her personal washroom- hearing her sigh as she pressed a raincloud on the chart while he was sniffing as he stood in a puddle infront of the toilet

Omggg the book is soooo good, I have a 🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️ of the audio book if you want it👀

The computer usually makes him sit bc of the whole potty training program,,, but he's gonna need a lot of help the first time he needs to pee in zero gravity because how is he supposed to sit now!?

Also,,, if yao and ilyukhina had lived they would have also been fully briefed on his potty training protocols lmao

The toilet has one of those zero g attachment that has a light suction and sorta goes around Grace's member so there's a tight seal and helps get all the pee out- but of course that's something new to Grace so he's kinda apprehensive (what if the suction rips his member off???)

So the computer of course has programming to make it s bit easier for Grace, talking Grace through it and giving praise ;w;

Omfg- Stratt being like "oh yeah btw when Grace wakes up you're going to have to follow this," as she hands them a folder.

Ilyukhina skims through it, "these are potty charts and stickers? With Grace's name on them?"

👀👀👀👀👀 YES

"It has been three hours since your last bladder voiding, Dr. Grace," the robotic voice chimes in the ship, having the toilet swivel out of the wall.

Grace blinks slowly, this was the fourth time today the bot has said that and each time Grace had humour it- surprisingly peeing each time.

This time Grace decides to test something. He goes to the toilet but, he only sits down for a few seconds before standing back up.

"Dr. Grace please remain seated for the allotted duration to ensure optimal bladder release."

"Ah-ha!" Grace says, pointing up, "potty training, I knew it!"

Grace then paces a little bit as he thinks outloud, "so, I can do rapid math in my head, I know a metric ton of science information but, I wasn't potty trained? I guess that makes sense, gotta make brain space for all the smart stuff."
