hi kids. don't know who needs to hear this in the writing community, but if you want to find people to read your work, go to a reputable place to do so. (editors you can hire from their website, freelancers and beta-readers on fiver that have REFRENCES)
or if you cant afford that, ask your friends and family to read over what you've written and give them full permission to be as mean as possible for feedback. don't have friends? don't have a family? join a writing group online or in person. ask your local library about this, they would be happy to help.
do not give your manuscript to randoms on the internet who reach out to you.
you do not know who they are, you do not know their real intentions and you do not know if they are using your work to train ai. and yes, some of them might be the real deal, but you don't have to risk it when there are reputable people out there.
be cautious of people who reach out to you. my biggest rule of thumb is this: reputable editors and readers will wait for you to reach out to them, NOT the other way around.
