It’s Not Stopping

we’re all talking about misha transforming supernatural, which is good and true, but let’s think about jensen. 26 year old jensen signing to star in a misogynistic horror show about two brothers killing monsters, being told he’s supposed to be the han solo to his co-star’s luke skywalker, being told he’s supposed to play this suave badass macho guy listening to classic rock and driving a big muscle car and flirting with all the women, being told that he’s supposed to be cool and strong and cocky and manly with an unexpected caring side. and he took that caring side and made it a thousand times bigger, he made the character vulnerable and scared and complicated and sweet and dorky and angry and silly and still as badass and strong and cool as he was supposed to. he made his character the emotional core of the show, made him develop complex and tender and touching relationships with other characters–relationships that transformed the very structure of the show, because it’s dean’s relationships with characters other than sam that widened the show to be about more than two brothers and a car. jensen took the show on his shoulders and added all those layers that have made the show into what it is now.
