for some reason, today i can’t stop thinking about younger lou starting in his acting career, and how he would have never imagined he would gain so much attention and fans from playing a gay character.
in 2017 he mentioned how he had played different types of boyfriends in his career, and even played the “gay boyfriend.” when asked if he had to do a kissing scene, he said no, and that he wasn’t quite ready for that yet.
then in 2024, he seems to not only be ready but excited and open to doing it many times over. he’s done interviews, liked fanart, watched edits, and responded to so many fans who wanted to tell him how much his work as tommy means to them.
i’m happy to see that growth for him as a person and actor, but i’m also very emotional over how amazing he’s been with the recognition and support from fans who enjoy his character and that relationship. i think that actually encouraged him to continue playing tommy, as he can actually see the impact he’s made on people with his art.
