every redpill dudebro who thinks life was better and more “traditional” in the 50s needs to be sentenced to eat 50s food for the rest of their lives
they want a happy housewife but what will happen when she serves them this
Excuse me but what the fresh hell
Do not get me started on 50s food and their obsession with fucked up jello molds and fruit
All these jellatin delights terrify me
… thats not how you salad
Excuse me what the fuck is Milk Chicken and how do i go back to not knowing about it?
Hey everyone, It's been a while, huh?
I've stopped using tumblr after a lot of unnecessary drama going on this website, and with the unnecessary going everywhere else I've thought: hey, maybe tumblr isn't so bad after all?
So... Here I am.
Just want to get this off my chest, that when logging in, I've found a few posts I wrote on my side blog, that was like a diary/journal of some sorts, and... God I was really heartbroken then. And reading it I just think to myself: it passed. It's ok now, and it healed.
Right now I'm really heartbroken, again, but reading that post made me think "this will also pass, things will get better" and eventually this pain will just be a small scar that I'll look and think "oh yeah, you came, you broke my heart, and you left, but that doesn't hurt me anymore"
So let's just wait and heal, things will get better.
why did it go back in the water are there rats in the water please tell me water rats aren’t a thing
He’s just fancying himself a little swim :)
Ok if u really want to know it’s a muskrat! They live in lakes and are a lil bigger than normal rats
this information displeases me greatly thank you for sharing
muskrats aren’t actually rats though, totally different genus
if a guy is hitting on u and he is clearly the alpha in his group of guys.. go for the third in command and undermine their whole power structure

Glad to see my lifelong disinterest in golf is paying off
let me tell you about golf
i grew up in a little desert valley called Tucson, Arizona, where it only rains 2 inches a year on average. the majority of the city’s water is pumped from an underground aquifer, which took millions of years to fill. one of the biggest conservation efforts in our city was for water, naturally, and i spent a lot of time learning about low flow toilets and 5 minute showers. i learned that filling your sink basin and washing your dishes in that water is less costly than running the tap. i learned that it only takes 2 days without water on the desert for someone to die
the city was sinking as the aquifer drained. neighborhoods fell into flood zones that didnt exist 10 years ago
there’s a road called Golf Links in the city and it is lined with golf courses. miles of green grass where grass doesn’t grow, in a valley where it doesn’t rain. why? because the rich white retirees who moved there to stop the aching in their joints decided they should also get to play golf. meanwhile our public schools taught small children like me that taking long showers would kill the world
let the golf industry burn
There are 15,500+ golf courses in the United States alone.
Each one consumes ~312,000 gallons of water per day.
That consumption is equivalent to 55+ million humans per day in the United States… roughly 1/6 the entire population.
We simply cannot sustain this frivolity, especially for something 99% of us will never use.
Destroy golf courses and plant wild grasses and butterfly bushes in their place.
me @ the beginning of the decade vs me at the end of the decade

this week in I Am Very Smart: having enough money to go to the opera, museums and concerts correlates with having enough money for food, shelter and basic health needs
They controlled for socioeconomic factors though! The people who conducted this study knew that people with lots of money to attend the opera were also more likely to be able to afford basic necessities, so they controlled for it in their analysis. The fun thing about statistics is that you can control for different confounding factors so you can look at the effects of one independent variable (opera or whatever) on the dependent variable (mortality). Part of being critical of potential biases is actually reading the article and knowing what to look for.
In addition to that very good point about controlling for socioeconomic factors, the article says a single museum or concert per year makes a difference. Most cities have free community concerts (some even have free opera performances!) and museums that are either free, pay-what-you-want, or at least have specific days/times during which they are free or at a significantly reduced cost. Many libraries (which are free) provide free museum passes to card holders. In fact, the article quotes a museum worker who works at a free art museum in Baltimore.
If you actually read the article you would also read that educators are excited about this study because it provides evidence that the arts should be made more accessible financially - by restoring arts programs in the public schools, for example.
inconspicuous
me to me: you stress me out
