i used to give the scene in twisters of the split dialogue between tyler and kate in their respective vehicles a lot of shit. the primary gripe i had was that the dialogue was just... blocky. and sure, it made sense for tyler to be explaining to ben, but the second issue i had was; why on earth would kate be explaining tornadoes to javi of all people? he already knows about them, they were on a research team together.
this time around, i watched it with kinder eyes and realized something-- kate isn't explaining it to javi, javi is encouraging her. the day prior, she was panicked, fearful, hesitant, and unable to overcome her guilt and doubt. but the next day, whether it's fuelled by her sense of competition with tyler + the wranglers or just settling back into the routine again, she is NOTABLY more open, and more self assured. she's the one who tells javi and the stormPAR team that she found their storm. she's the one who, through a combination of her instinct and education, is able to identify the cells with the most potential.
(on a side note- kate's transformation is also displayed through the costuming. day 1 she's wearing a button-up tucked into pants over a turtleneck. day 2, in a reference to jo's iconic 'twister' 1996 jumpsuit, she's wearing a brown shirt and pants combo, but it's unbuttoned and loose, displaying a new level of openness! when tyler sees her at the rodeo, she's only wearing a tank top and pants! i have a whole essay on how her character development is displayed through costuming/color, but i digress)
by the time kate and javi are in the car, he's asking her to follow her instincts-- the tool he trusts above all else--and is encouraging her to keep going. when he asks "what else are you seeing?" he's not asking because he doesn't know. he's asking because he wants kate to be able to see the storm for what it is. he's asking her to look at "all the invisible factors coming together", he's asking her to allow herself to trust that instinct and fall in love with it again.
so while the scene isn't perfect and the dialogue is a bit blocky, i appreciate what it was. the way javi tried to reach through the wall of their past to ask her to just look at the sky again.
Ok straight up I think the dispatch fandom forgets that people aged 27 and older in real life can and do in fact act like invisigal when we first meet her. As a matter of fact, a lot of adults that age and older can and do act worse than her.
If you have a job in the retail or service industry youâd understand. I see more people in their late 30s - late 50s act childish or bitchy when they donât get what they want or the answer they want right away at a fucking bowling alley. Or when their kids want to get something at the prize counter that they think is stupid or that they think their kids donât need!! And thatâs just scratching the surface!!
Maybe thatâs why Iâm not phased by the way Invisigal acts lmaooo
Yknow what i think?? I think Flambaeâs family was Afghani living in Spain before he moved to the U.S., hence why the Spanish accent [even if it is a bit as Iâve heard from a few people on here].

In this reddit post one of the comment threads explains it really well if you scroll a bit, specifically by the thread started by user ouroborous818. Thereâs a comment later on that takes a deeper dive into comparing choices between a couple of streamers and, what scenes they got based on those choices. Not only that but game devs made it harder to get too as one of the first few patches, once the game was fully released. Which on that end, is a fault of the devs who wrote and / or coded the game for not catching it sooner.
I know there are outcomes where she doesn't kiss you, but the anon was asking if she would still kiss you outside of her romance path, and the answer is yes.
There are outcomes where she forces the kiss on you on her path, Blazer's path, and no romance path. There are also outcomes where she doesn't kiss you on her path, Blazer's path, and no romance path.
Tbh I kind of like how random it feels and that your relationship status alone doesn't determine it, because that makes it feel more like an actual assault; you didn't really DO anything in particular to make her assault you or not. It all depends on how she happens to feel about you in that moment when she decides to violate your boundaries.
In my point of view the answer was phrased like it seemed it was unavoidable no matter what you choose, which is the main reason why I had responded in the first place. Which is a misunderstanding on my part, so-

The more I think about invisigal / Courtney for the sake of my OCâs story and to explore more themes w / her [bc sheâs my OCâs younger sibling] the more I think about her actions surrounding Robert and when she realizes sheâs attracted to him.
More thoughts that are kinda disjointed / kinda rambly under the cut ;
Now granted, her actions arenât good at all. Robert does know when to shut it down, at least with the choices Iâve made so far, and sheâs listened to that to the best of what she knows / to my knowledge in Robertâs point of view, since the game follows him not anyone else.
[havenât gotten to the point of the game where she kisses him in the locker room and I donât know if I will get that specific scene yet either - cause all of that is based off of the playerâs choices too - but I am glad there is a chance to refuse it and at least she listens then. There are so many scenes like this in books and in movies and shows committed by people of all genders but I barely see anyone talk about those as much as this one for some reason, however thatâs a conversation for another day.]
And the more I think about it, and the more she talks about the fact that she was raised around bad people and villains most of her life, it makes me think. What the hell did she endure to make her actions seem normal in her point of view?? Like there are choices we can react with that breaks her point of view for a little bit, sure, but not enough for her to realize that what sheâs done is considered not ok.
And itâs not easy to break from old / learned habits when youâre surrounded by people who taught you that those actions were normal and not unsafe. When in reality those actions were unsafe. And continue to be unsafe.
Anyways point being I think Courtney mightâve probably dealt with something similar growing up until she got out of the Red Ring. Only difference was that in her mind, this was normal. This was how people act whenever theyâre attracted to someone in that way.
Thatâs not me saying Iâm alright with what she did. In fact I dislike it and Iâve said it before, Iâm planning on keeping romance out of the equation in my playthrough of the game. But it does make me understand her actions, or at the very least have an insight / interpretation as to why she acts a certain way.
And I also hope if thereâs another season, we get to explore that part of her story. Same with everyone else. Redemption is a process overall, sheâs still got a lot of a work to do too, same as everyone else. That is literally the point of the game.
Once again, though, that does not mean I accept what she did.
Saying that thrice because the reading comprehension on this website is awful even if thatâs old news by now.
We donât know the specifics about her past, so Iâm simply exploring them and trying to connect it to her character in game. And so far, this is my interpretation, no one elseâs. Is it important to my OCâs story and her guilt for not knowing what her sisterâs gone through / not being there enough for her? Yes.
But I also like character analysis too. And sheâs one of the characters we have more insight on in the story and itâs whatâs unexplored that interests me, same w / the unexplored corporate backing of Blonde Blazer / Mandy [although thatâs not the main part of this post].

Tw ; mentions of power imbalances between superheroes and HR violations. Nothing is outright said but itâs implied that superheroes took advantage of their popularity and powers against others. Not against the OC, just co-workers of the OC. Also implied childhood neglect. Plus complicated sibling dynamics too.
⢠her name is Viktoriya, and she goes by Vika or Tori by friends and close colleagues.
⢠sheâs Slavic [Ukrainian specifically] and French on one side of her family, and Filipina on the other side. Reason being for this is sheâs Courtneyâs / Invisigalâs older sister. Invisigalâs voice actor, Laura Bailey is partially Filipina herself, and the name Courtney has origins in the French language.
⢠Viktoriyaâs around the same age as Robert [Late 20âs - Early 30âs]. Sometime just as she got out of high school, she became the sole guardian for Courtney after years of being the parentified older sibling. They didnât grow up in the best of areas, and she tried her best to make things work out between them both. However, Courtney fell into the wrong crowd and refused to listen to Viktoriyaâs warnings - especially given the fact that Courtney had powers - and, well, we know how that turned out for her.
⢠They had a massive falling out once, but she did her best to keep contact until she didnât hear from Courtney anymore. From then on she delved deep into her work and got herself through community college for a simple business degree. After that, she got an interview at SDN.
⢠Viktoriya still doesnât know how she got the internship she applied for [connection to Invisigal aside. She didnât want to entertain the idea at first]. She got along well with her co-workerâs, did great work on all the floors she was assigned to. She did a lot of data entry and file organization when she first got in. Helped out a few hero groups with getting some stuff they needed in the office. Which was part of when she changed career paths in the company.
⢠She noticed quite a few HR violations, especially between a couple of used-to-be-well-known superheroes and other interns and dispatchers. Superheroes using their notability, and the power imbalance caused by such for their own gain, wasnât pretty in any way it crossed a line.
⢠Viktoriya went to HR a LOT during her time as an intern. Rarely for herself but majority for her co-workers. To say barely anything got done until someone was hurt was putting it lightly. A lot of superheroes got away with more things than sheâd like to admit and after one incident that barely got the time of day from the higher ups, she decided to get shit done herself.
⢠Which is where itâs shown that she and Courtney are definitively related.
⢠Viktoriya learned all she could to get into an HR position. Made sure she got all the qualifications, took a few extra classes on the side during the weekends from her community college online. She went through all the proper channels and applications, too. And soon enough she made her way into the HR department. Made a name for herself by investigating any and all complaints made. No oneâs claims were getting glossed over on her watch. Even from clients SDN accepted calls from.
⢠some of that mightâve also been out of spite when she realized that they hired her for her connection to her sister, but after she made a name for herself she focused less on that fact.
⢠Sheâs always kept a belief of âNo oneâs a hero.â, because in her experience, once you become a hero you think youâre protected. Invincible. Excused of all your own actions, no matter how bad they really are. But they shouldnât be. Which is why she was called in to work at Torrence because of the Z-Team. And the high turnover rate from the dispatchers.
⢠And also, again, because of her connection to her sister. Primarily. Which hey, because Blonde Blazerâs the manager of that floor / office, it was something that Blazer knew about but chose not to disclose. Much like what she did when she first met Robert and gave him an interview [unprofessionally tbh but then again this is the game of HR violations, so-]. Fun times.
⢠this definitely doesnât cause a lot of problems / strain / conflict between her and her sister, no way.
⢠Viktoriya and Robert bond over migraines, letâs just leave it at that.
⢠In terms of powers, Viktoriya doesnât have any. In fact, neither she nor Courtney know where she got her powers of invisibility - although they think it could be an environmental factor or something to that degree, considering she was born with it rather than not.
⢠The only power Viktoriya has is that she. Literally makes an amazing cup of coffee. Thatâs it. Just amazing cups of coffee, no matter who or what people like with their coffee, she always makes it just right for them. âItâs because sheâs a people pleaserâ is Invisigalâs excuse.
⢠Viktoriya has a calico cat at home, actually. She severely protective of that cat, she found her as a kitten off of the street after not being able to find the catâs mother or any other siblings nearby.
⢠Viktoriya wears reading / blue light glasses while at work. She gets a lot of headaches from stress, staring at computers screens, ect, so she was prescribed those glasses a few years back. Rarely does she ever take them off at work or in places like a grocery store, but at home she takes them off.
⢠Super professional attire at work -> comfy and baggy or comfy and loose / shorter clothes at home
⢠Will call everyone out on their bullshit. Mandy included. No one is exempt from her and her HR work ethic.
⢠she and Visi have a⌠very complicated relationship. Obviously. But sometimes it overloads and effects their work. And Viktoriya tries her best to remain professional, however we all know how Courtney is. As indifferent as she is, she wears her emotions on her sleeve.
⢠Viktoriyaâs like that too, but her identity at work helps her save face. Once sheâs at home sheâs usually mellowed out and tired.
⢠it does provide for a LOT of gossip material for the Z-team though. And as much as Robert doesnât want to get involved he still makes it a point to stay as informed as possible. Partially to combat any stupid rumors that might pop up here and there about your guyâs situation, but also to make sure he isnât misinformed and knows how to act accordingly whenever things escalate.
