You know, I was thinking about it, and there's a possibility we WILL be saved from the dreaded "Life is Fair" line yet.
Here me out...the Savanclaw manga wrapped in January.
Considering season two is dropping in December, development, storyboarding, scriptwriting, and all of that would've been well underway long before then. That means the last few chapters of the manga probably aren't direct source material for the anime finale.
Now, I'm sure there's communication between the teams, but they're still separate groups, I imagine. It gives me hope that the anime will be even more of an improvement and won't feel obligated to include THE AWFUL Yuuka moment with the "Life is Fair" flip, or that fucking bizarre conversation at the end where she straight-up says this:
Which confuses me to no end because⦠what the hell does that have to do with anything? Any of the themes? WTF DOES "BEING FRIENDS" HAVE TO DO WITH ANYTHING AND HOW EXACTLY DOES IT MEAN LIFE IS FAIR BC YOU HAVE A DIVERSE FRIEND GROUP???
If they wanted to do a hard work narrative, like: no matter what your staus or creed is we can all keeping going in this harsh world! I'd understand that. But this feels like toxic positivity nonsense, especially piggybacking off that terrible "Life is Fair" flip.
The lesson Leona has to learn narratively has nothing to do with being friends with others, IMHO. (I mean he could use more friends ig but not the point) Leona already associates himself with a diverse group of people. In fact, he's one of the least discriminatory characters in the cast. He consistently judges people by their talents rather than their status or background. That's why he works with Ruggie.
It would've made so much more sense to double down on the message of, "Yes, life is UNFAIR⦠but we can't let it beat us."
Diadem is very clear about Savanaclaw being the underdog dorm. That's practically its entire message as a song.
Why would we have THIS powerful of messaging only for our MC to shout "Life is Fair!!" to someone who clearly is suffering.
Besides, Yuuka, by all accounts, is not an underdog. They were setting her up to be this scrappy hardworking character who goes one despite the odds, but...what odds? The only fight we saw was her winning a match, she's a champ who's used to winning. Leona never gets to win.
The only real pushback she ever receives is some disapproval from her parents. And by all accounts she should understand the misogynistic view her parents were pushing on her and it is in fact NOT FAIR. What gives her the right to preach to anyone about life being fair, let alone Leona? And especially someone like Ruggie, who's ACTUALLY had to scrape for everything he's ever had. Was life fair for him that he had to eat out the dump as a kid? Like???
Yuuka was a poor foil to Leona. A character who was more passionate perhaps, or someone like Ruggie would have made more sense.

Anyways, y'all know my stance on the manga's weird writing at this point. I'm still holding onto hope that the anime writers go back to Savanaclaw's original message of persevering and continuing to fight in this unfair world despite it being against you! THAT IS SOMETHING ACTUALLY INSPIRING. Instead of trying to replace it with some dumb ass "Life is fair if you work hard enough!!" moral.
It just....rubs me the wrong way. Bc it's nothing but a toxic mindset that shifts all the blame onto the individual while completely ignoring systemic discrimination and unequal opportunities.
Not everyone starts from the same line. Some people have to work twice as hard just to end up in the same place, and pretending otherwise just invalidates the struggles of people who have been fighting uphill their entire lives. Leona needed a reality check by someone struggling more than him perhaps. But, Yuuka was not the right messenger, NOR was the final message delivered in a way that makes sense.
I have no idea why they decided to make "this "Life is Fair" Yuuka's motto when it does such a disservice to her character too by making her seem like some like some one-dimensional "Pull yourself up by your bootstraps" girlboss.
ANyways, MY POINT IS WE HAVE CHANCE for them to fix Yuuka and Savanaclaw's subpar writing.
Back in June 2025, a question occurred to me: āDo people with certain personality traits gravitate to certain OB boys?ā This led me to create a survey to try and get to the bottom of things.
Now we have results of our findings!! The Tumblr post you're currently reading only includes our findings, discussion, and credits. Some graphs, tables, and charts are included here, but not all of them, since Tumblr posts have a 30 image maximum. To read the full paper (which is ~50 pages), please see this Google Document.

Methods, Results + Discussion (Personality of Respondents vs Favorite OB Boy(s))
The method of collecting responses we used is known as convenience sampling, which gathers data from participants who are the easiest to reach. We, the researchers, sacrifice random and representative selection for speed and cost-efficiency.
To measure personality traits, we asked that each participant take the Big 5 or Five Factor Model (FFM) personality assessment and provide their resulting overall scores across 5 dimensions. Those 5 dimensions, commonly referred to by the acronym OCEAN and each existing on a spectrum, are as follows:Ā
Openness (to experience) ā measures imagination, curiosity, and willingness to try new things.
Conscientiousness ā measures goal-directed behavior, planning, and self-discipline.
Extroversion ā measures how much an individual is energized by social interactions.
Agreeableness ā measures empathy, willingness to cooperate, and ability to trust in others
Neuroticism ā measures emotional instability, such as anxiety, hostility, and impulsivity.
We chose to use the Big 5 because it is widely accessible (i.e. free to the general public), widely recognized, and, most importantly, widely researched. Many languages and cultures use this test, leading to Big 5ās validity and reliability to be demonstrated many times over in several peer-reviewed studies. It is considered the āgold standardā in personality psychology.
For the purposes of this report, we will be using a significance value of 0.05. In hypothesis testing, the p-value is used to determine whether an observed result is likely due to chance or a true effect. 0.05 will be our marker, or threshold. In this case, a p-value HIGHER than 0.05 means the results are not statistically significant (i.e. these results are due to random chance). A p-value LOWER than 0.05 means the results are statistically significant (ie these results are due to a true effect, NOT random chance).
We determined that this data set has homogeneity of variance and for normality. For the oneway ANOVAs, we only considered the characters that respondents marked as their favorite (1). This was done for every dimension. Where relevant, Fisherās LSD multiple comparison test was used to determine if the difference between two scores within the same dimension were statistically significant.
Openness:
The Openness scores were not significantly different from each other (p-value=0.2858). The scores were generally clustered together without one being an outlier.Ā
Those who ranked Jamil as (1) were the highest in terms of Openness (mean=89.98, sd=8.79)
Those who ranked Riddle as (1) were the lowest (mean=87.50, sd=8.97).
Using Fisherās LSD multiple comparison test, we can see that Jamil likers and Riddle likers were significantly different from each other in terms of Openness scores (p-value=0.0271).
Since the Openness scores were not statistically significant, this means fans of all OB boys were roughly the same in terms of Openness. This makes sense, as the concept of Twisted Wonderland itself invites curiosity and imagination for a world that reinterprets classic Disney characters. Those attracted to Twstās world and characters would have to be open to a decent degree to get invested and stay invested.
If we examine the two characters who are notably different from one another, Jamil likers were the most open and Riddle likers were the least open. This reflects the personalities of the two OB boys. Jamil desires his freedom and can act unhinged when he lets himself cut loose, whereas Riddle is notoriously uptight. Fans of these respective characters may share these charactersā respective traits, which would explain the scores.
Neuroticism:
The Neuroticism scores were statistically significant from one another (p-value=0.0074). At least one of the scores was different enough from the rest.
Those who ranked Idia as (1) were the highest in terms of Neuroticism (mean=90.96, sd=13.83).
Those who ranked Leona as (1) were the lowest (mean=86.13, sd=13.91).
Using Fisherās LSD multiple comparison test, we can see that Idia likers were significantly different from Vil (p-value=0.0464), Azul (p-value=0.0130), and Leona (p-value=0.0003) likers in terms of Neuroticism scores.
Leona likers were significantly different from Idia, Riddle (p-value=0.0033), and Malleus (p-value=0.0366) likers.
Idia likers scored the highest in Neuroticism, whereas Leona likers scored the lowest. Again, I believe this reflects the tendency for fans to gravitate to characters that are similar to themselves. Idia is extremely anxious but can swing between periods of extreme confidence and extreme meekness. Leona, on the other hand, can usually keep his cool and does not act impulsively; he plans for the long term.
Agreeableness:
The Agreeableness scores were significantly different from each other (p-value=0.0449). At least one of the scores was different enough from the rest.
Those who ranked Malleus as (1) were the highest in terms of agreeableness (mean=89.80, sd=11.87).
Those who ranked Jamil as (1) were the lowest (mean=86.14, sd=12.04).
Using Fisherās LSD multiple comparison test, we can see that Malleus likers were significantly different from Riddle (p-value=0.0087), Vil (p-value=0.0099), Idia (p-value=0.0052), and Jamil (p-value=0.0122) likers in terms of agreeableness scores.
Jamil likers were only significantly different from Malleus likers.
Malleus likers scored the highest in agreeableness, meaning they are the most empathetic and willing to cooperate and trust in others. Jamil likers are the opposite, having scored the lowest. This, too, reflects the characters, whom the fans may see themselves in. Jamil is highly distrustful of others and assumes the worst of them. On the other hand, Malleus can be on the naive side and thereās a whole subplot in the main story about how he overcomes loneliness, learns to be more open with others, and makes new friends. He is also shown to be empathetic, especially when he relates to othersā loneliness (like in Endless Halloween Night; he was sad for the ghosts who had missed the party).
Extraversion:
The Extraversion scores were significantly different from each other (p-value=0.0142). At least one of the scores was different enough from the rest.
Those who ranked Vil as (1) were the highest in terms of Extraversion (mean=63.52, sd=13.41)
Those who ranked Idia as (1) were the lowest (mean=59.32, sd=13.17).
Using Fisherās LSD multiple comparison test, we can see that Vil likers were significantly different from Azul (p-value=0.0218) and Idia (p-value=0.0031) likers in terms of Extraversion scores.
Idia likers were significantly different from Vil, Riddle (p-value=0.0056), Malleus (p-value=0.0135), and Leona (p-value=0.0141).
Riddle likers were significantly different from Azul (p-value=0.0437).
Vil likers scored the highest in Extraversion, while Idia likers scored the lowest. Vil, being a celebrity, is constantly in the public eye and interacting with fans, whether indirectly (social media, films, etc.) or directly (in-person events). Additionally, his character revolves around the idea of beauty, being seen, and being confident in outward expression of his gender. I could see this pulling fans who similarly want to be seen or to express themselves in the same ways that Vil does. Idia, meanwhile, tends to keep to himself and be a loner, which may attract fans who behave similarly.
Conscientiousness:
The Conscientiousness scores were significantly different from each other (p-value=0.0142). At least one of the scores was different enough from the rest.
Those who ranked Azul as (1) were the highest in terms of conscientiousness (mean=76.94, sd=13.68), while those who ranked Idia as (1) were the lowest (mean=71.98, sd=14.30).
Using Fisherās LSD multiple comparison test, we can see that Azul likers were significantly different from Riddle (p-value=0.0428), Leona (p-value=0.0308), Vil (p-value=0.0188), and Idia (p-value=0.0009) likers in terms of conscientiousness scores.
Idia likers were significantly different from Azul and Malleus (p-value=0.0229) likers.
The conscientiousness scores were statistically significant, meaning respondents are different in their goal-directed behavior, planning, and self-discipline. Twisted Wonderland is a free-to-play gacha game, in which players can earn currency to roll on banners by completing various tasks. However, there are limited ways for players to earn this currency, especially if they have been playing for years. This incentivizes paying money to acquire more rolls, which funds the game. Because bannersāparticularly event banners and birthday bannersāare limited time, this feeds into FOMO (fear of missing out), furthering the pressure to not save or plan for future banners, but to spend on the current one. This data seems to suggest that fans of some OB characters (such as Azul) are better at long-term planning, including saving rolls for gacha banners, than fans of other characters (such as Idia).
Azul likers having the highest conscientiousness score makes sense, given that this is also true of the character. Azul often schemes and prepares for situations far in advance, and a perfect example of this is his ascension to dorm leadership. He implies that he worked hard to get into the good graces of his previous dorm leader to earn the recommendation to succeed him.
Idia likers are the least conscientious, but my best guess as to why this is the case⦠maybe his explosive and sudden anger? Or his ability to tackle any problem on-the-spot with the skills currently at his disposal? Perhaps itās that he prefers to maximize efficiency?
By highest percentage:
15% of Jamil likers ranked Riddle as their least favorite OB boy

Overall comments on personality + favorite OB boy:
Noting the important differences between highest and lowest scores:
Jamil likers scored high in Openness
Riddle likers scored low in Openness
Idia likers scored high in Neuroticism
Leona likers scored low in Neuroticism
Malleus likers scored high in Agreeableness
Jamil likers scored low in Agreeableness
Vil likers scored high in Extraversion
Idia likers scored low in Extraversion
Azul likers scored high in Conscientiousness
Idia likers scored low in Conscientiousness
The trend seems to be that oneās favorite OB boy correlates with shared personality traits. This is observed over 4 (Neuroticism, Agreeableness, Extraversion, conscientiousness) of the 5 dimensions of the Big 5 personality test, with the remaining 1 (Openness) being insignificant, as the concept of Twst itself depends on the fans to have an open mind to begin with.
Leona was most often chosen as the favorite OB boy, and Jamil was the least often chosen as the favorite OB boy. Itās ironic, because both Leona and Jamil are the top two most often cited as the LEAST favorite OB boy(s). Leona seems to be a point of contention among respondents; he is simultaneously liked and disliked.
Results + Discussion (by Other Metrics)
Favorite OB boy by time spent playing Twst:
Those who have been playing for 5 years or more showed a preference for Idia
Those who have been playing up to 4 years showed a preference for Riddle
Those who have been playing up to 3 years showed a preference for Leona
Those who have been playing up to 2 years showed a preference for Malleus
Those who have been playing up to 1 year showed a preference for Malleus
Those who have been playing less than 1 year showed a preference for Leona
Inexperienced players seemed to like Leona or Malleus, which is interesting given that Leona notoriously has a disliked main story book early on and Malleus has little relevance early in the story. Based on the word analysis, it seems like many people were initially drawn to Twst due to the visual appeal of Malleus and Leona.
Fans of 2-3 years have been playing for about the same length of time as EN has been out. This is around when weād anticipate the preference for Malleus and Leona transforming into more of an appreciation for their characters, as 2-3 years is time to acclimate to the latter parts of the story.
Players of 4 and 5 years like Riddle and Idia, respectively. This may be because, deep in the story, they are very important characters. Riddle has a substantial segment towards the end which adds more depth to the nature of his family, earning him much attention and empathy from fans. Idia plays a pivotal role in saving the day in book 7.
Favorite OB boy by region:
East Asia and Pacific: Idia with 18.7%
Europe and Central Asia: Malleus with 20.8%
Latin America and Caribbean: Leona and Idia with 18.9% each (color only reflects Leona)
Middle East and North Africa: Vil with 28.6% (small sample size 4/14)
North America: Riddle with 19.2%
South Asia: Leona with 30% (very small sample size 3/10)
Sub-Saharan Africa: Malleus with 40% (very small sample size 2/5)
The most popular character varies by region due to cultural values and traditions differing. For example, Europe + Central Asia have lore about spirits, fae, and/or dragons, which may boost Malleusās popularity, since he is a dragon fae.
By age:
The most popular OB boy for ages 13-18 is Riddle
The least popular OB boy for ages 13-18 is Jamil
The most popular OB boy for ages 19-24 is Leona
The least popular OB boy for ages 19-24 is Jamil
The most popular OB boy for ages 25-30 is Leona
The least popular OB boy for ages 25-30 is a tie between Jamil and Vil
The most popular OB boy for ages 31-36 is Azul
The least popular OB boy for ages 31-36 is a tie between Jamil and Vil
The most popular OB boy for ages 37-42 is Riddle
The least popular OB boy for ages 31-36 is a tie between Leona, Azul, Jamil, Vil, and Malleus.
Itās possible that minor fans (13-18) like Riddle due to relatability; children may relate to not enjoying having a helicopter parent micromanage their life (preferring to rebel or leave the situation) and may sympathize with Riddleās situation.
Leona is liked by ages 19-24 and 25-30, and that may indicate a āmaturationā of the fan. He has ambitions and the skill/talent to realize them, like the fans who are now adults and are preparing for or have careers at this point. These adult fans may also relate to his stance on children (as studies show that adults are now having families later and later in life) or respect his involvement in politics, as they are now at the age where they are actively thinking about how it affects them.
Jamil in general may not be liked because (given that most responses come from the west), the ideas of filial piety + carrying on the family legacy and staying trapped in an abusive system are a challenge for westerners to understand. These are more normalized concepts and practices in the east.
Vil may not be liked by 25-30 year olds because this age group is aging and/or getting to a point where they do not care as much for aesthetics (which Vil is big on). They are generally more focused on adult responsibilities rather than putting all their energy and effort into looks like Vil does.
I will not comment on ages 31-36 and 37-42, since the sample sizes for those were too small.
By relatability:
All the OB boys were viewed as more relatable than not relatable. However, Jamil (63 vs 50) and Vil (75 vs 56) have the smallest gaps between ārelatableā and ānot relatableā. This may be because not many fans can relate on a literal or direct level to being trapped in servitude or being a famous but typecasted actor/model/celebrity. Idia was rated the most relatable, with a gap of 181 vs 23 (relatable vs not relatable). This may be because fans relate to his anxiety, which, as youāll see in the word analysis portion, frequently comes up in reference to him.

Specific points in the main story and/or events weighted Leona and Malleus down. Certain character dynamics enhanced or tore down a few OB boys (for Vil, itās Epel; for Jamil, itās Kalim, for Idia, itās Ortho). Some most unique character traits were a big pro or con as well. For example, Vilās breaking of gender norms was loved.
Yuu/MC/Player was often mentioned as a reason for liking Malleus. Malleus likers placed high weight on Malleusās involvement and acknowledgement of Yuu in the main story.
Notably, diagnostic terms such as ādepressionā, āanxietyā, and āautismā (or variations therein) were frequently recurring for certain characters. Fans attributed these diagnoses to certain characters and cited relatability. For example, Leona had the most mentions with ādepressionā, Idia had the most mentions with "anxiety", and Malleus had the most mentions with āautismā.

Sebek is my favorite twisted wonderland character. Heās fucking insufferable. Heās a cutie pie. If I met him in real life Iād kill myself in front of him to forever change the trajectory of his life. Heās deeply misunderstood. I wanna shove him down a flight of stairs. Iāve spent too much money on importing merch from Japan for him. He should be publicly executed. Heās to me like jesus was to the apostles. And yes Iām Judas. And yes Iām crucifying him at the soonest possible opportunity.
To add on: Heās my comfort character, so imagining him both more miserable AND way happier than me is key to my enjoyment of him. One must imagine Sebek Zigvolt happy.

This was a spur-of-the-moment thing I wanted to do after listening to Entanglement again. Just wanted to get my thoughts out there about these! Feel free to discuss with me in the comments or DMs :)
Very unique and interesting sounding introductionĀ
All vocals are solid, no obvious āweak linkā. Aceās vocals are probably the strongest for me.
Very catchy chorus, the english interspersed is good for catching the listenerās attention
Breakdown is a bit disappointing, as it is essentially another version of the main melody
Nice contrast between synths and drum line, although it feels a tad bit boring? Maybe a more militaristic use of instruments would have suited it better (trumpets, choirs, etc).
Although the odd combination is good for the oddness of the dorm.
Rating: 7/10
āDIADEMāĀ
Vocals: Jack Howl, Leona Kingscolar, Ruggie Bucchi
Notes:Ā
Very interesting intro. It distinguishes itself from other songs best out of all TWST songs in my opinion.
Jackās vocals are the obvious āweak linkā here. His range feels very restricted. Leonaās are the best - a nice middle tone that supports Ruggie and Jack very easily.Ā
The song has good vibes that really highlight the theme of the dorm well. The guitar especially, both acoustic and electric.Ā
Breakdown is the same as the intro, but fun.Ā
Variation on the melody adds a lot of interest that āObedienceā doesnāt really have.Ā
Again, the English inserted feels very good for catching attention, but here it also relates to the high-energy of the song. Feels like it really belongs.Ā
Rating: 4/10
āEntanglementāĀ
Vocals: Azul Ashengrotto, Jade Leech, Floyd Leech
Notes:Ā
Much like āDIADEMā, establising its unique genre right off of the bat. Jazz works very well for Octavinelle.Ā
No āweak linksā here. In fact, each voice is both strong and distinctive enough to tell who sings each line. Jade is the MVP here, but Azul and Floydās voices are nothing to scoff at.Ā
The progression is fun, very true to genre, and keeps you listening to the end. The key shift in the chorus is very fun.Ā
Faint guitar definitely adds to the troublesome or sneaky vibe this song gives off.Ā
Break down is a bit boring, and Iād have preferred an upright bass to play rather than electric, but itās short and passable.Ā
Floydās vocal fry at the end of the pre-chorus is both fun and telling of his character.Ā
Rating: 9/10
āFar OutāĀ
Vocals: Kalim Al-Asim, Jamil Viper
Notes:Ā
Keeping with the theme of establishing a genre quickly, this song brings in the energy right away. The music does give us a very (stereotype-based) idea of what the dorm is about.Ā
Love those strings.Ā
Jamilās vocals are more refined and powerful, but Kalim is really good too. Like āEntanglementā, both have unique and distinguishable voices that can carry their respective solo segments.Ā
This chorus is by far my favorite. Itās so unbelievably catchy, not to mention the choreography for it is really fun.Ā
English is good for catching eyes, as Iāve said.Ā
Listen, this song is my favorite. I canāt lie. I donāt have a lot to say about my love of it.Ā
This intro is by far my favorite. The classical-music-into-rock-opera vibe is so killer.
Once again, no weak-links! I feel like Rookās deep voice is the MVP here, carrying a lot of parts with its depth. All voices are distinguishable, but I really feel like Rookās VA takes it a little further.Ā
The melody is, unfortunately, not riveting. Itās very predictable and repetitive.Ā
I do adore the violin solo, however. It adds a lot of elegance to this song, and really transitions into Epelās vocals well.Ā
Vilās solo near the end is really solid. His singing is really special, and I wish theyād incorporated that more.Ā
Rating: 5.5/10
āUnrivaled Aeonsā
Vocals: Idia Shroud, Ortho Shroud
Notes:Ā
Okay, a very short intro throws you right into the main song. Very much like the dorm.Ā
I like the melody of the synths, but the sung bits feel a bit boring.
Pre-chprus is interesting, and shows a side of Idia that feels more confident.Ā
CHorus is a let-down, though. It feels veryā¦stereotypical boss music? I feel like it should have a lot more umph.Ā
The āWelcome to the Underworldā at the end of the chorus is fun though. It brings in Idiaās gloominess.Ā
Ortho carries this song in the first act, if purely because his voice is clearest and highest, but Idiaās teasing tone in the second makes it much more his song from there on out. His solo adds to this.Ā
Breakdown isnāt much, but at least thereās variation on the very repetitive chorus.Ā
Choral beginning is very unique, and helps the song stand out from others.
No major weak-links here. Obviously, Malleusās voice is the best. He really has a lot of power, befitting of his role in the story.Ā
Pre-chorus is interesting, a nice deviation.
The chorus kicks ass, I wonāt lie. Malleusās solo bit really conveys emotion and drama very well. Also, the slight speed up of the drums is very attractive.
Breakdown with piano, vocals, and guitar, all crescendo-ing is fantastic. This really feels like a powerful song.Ā
The use of a choir is very compelling.Ā
I do wish the song used more of Liliaās vocals solo.
Rating: 6/10
OVERBLOT SONGS:
āRED HEART RAGEā
Vocals: Riddle Rosehearts
Notes:Ā
Love the beginning. Synths take me out of it a bit, but that heavy guitar is so fun.Ā
Fast-paced singing and tempo really add to the anguished feeling here. Itās almost anxiety-inducing.Ā
Riddleās growl right before the chorus? Excellent. Give me 14 of them right now.Ā
Almost-heavy metal pre-chorus is very compelling. The english and chanting is really hypnotic.Ā
Unfortunately the chorus falls a bit short after that, but only slightly. Riddle gives us a little more growl vocals.Ā
Riddleās VA does a great job expressing Riddleās emotions while singing.Ā
Piano in the bridge is a nice break.
Love the key change! I always love a good key change.Ā
The drums at the end really got me. Love a good drum line.Ā
Rating: 6/10
āStill Infallible Until Tangibleā
Vocals: Leona Kingscholar
Notes:Ā
A lot more gentle than Iād expected from Leona right out of the gate. Does feel sort of depressing, though. It fits his OB pretty accurately.Ā
His vocals are strong, and convey his misery well.
This feels very early 2000s j-rock, and Iām surprised how well it fits Leona.Ā
The melody is nothing special, but accompanied by the instruments and the tone of the song, it really culminates in a song that stands out from all others I have heard.
I donāt have much to say here, if only because the song is straight-forward and simple, but still very effective.Ā
Rating: 7/10
āAbyssā
Vocals: Azul Ashengrotto
Notes:Ā
Jazz comes back for Azul. But this time, accompanied by the guitar, and in a much more latin-pop and ska vibe. Interesting!
Iām not sure how well the guitar and drums suit Azul, but Iāll take it.Ā
Again, his vocals are strong.Ā
Okay, the chorus key chage caught me completely off guard! Now weāre talking!
The major key for a bit does sound almost too cheery, but the words about losing control do suit it well.Ā
Actually, the sort-of ska beat does sound a bit mischievous, so I can see it fitting.Ā
The guitar bridge does feel out of place though. Itās really not his style, specifically in this song.Ā
Rating: 6/10
āThe Snake and Blinkā
Vocals: Jamil Viper
Notes:Ā
The intro is really unique, and I love the rattling sounds.Ā
Iām not sure how I feel about the eclectic instruments building up to the pre-chorus, but Iām willing to rock with it.Ā
The slower and more agonized sounding vibe of the song is really communicating Jamilās feelings during the OB.Ā
That high note! Jamil, youāve sold me.Ā
After the chorus, I feel like the song is easier to get into.Ā
This one feels unlike the previous songs, too. Jamil and Leonaās slower songs are really excellent for them.Ā
I love the softness of the piano in the intro. Feels like the beginning of a musical song.Ā
Vilās vocals come in gently too. This really does feel like I should be watching it on a stage.Ā
Sudden change to a minor key is excellent. This is absolutely a power-ballad, and Vil rocks it.Ā
Vilās VA kicks absolute ass here.Ā
We havenāt heard a lot of major-key songs in TWST, so this is a nice change.Ā
Vilās overlapping vocals also sell him as both the singer and the ensemble. Itās a really cool way of demonstrating his complex with playing specific roles and characters.Ā
That soft ending, all stripped away, really sells his agony. LOVE IT.
Rating: 9/10
āGGWPā
Vocals: Idia Shroud
Notes:Ā
I hate Idia but heās really bringing me back in with this one. Intro is fun and catchy right off the bat.Ā
LOVE the bass and techno vibes. Youād hear this in a club in Berlin in 2018.Ā
IDIA RAPPING? HELLO? A very welcome change! Heās kinda killing it.Ā
And then, when he does decide to sing, he does it well, with passion.Ā
The chorus is a bit boring, I wonāt lie, but it does feel dorky, and I think it suits him well.Ā
The pre-chorus is much more fun, IMO.
More english - fitting given the title being an english abbreviation.Ā
āEz noob lolā? Kill this man instantly. I take back everything positive Iāve said.Ā
Idiaās VA really conveys the emotional shifts here well! Heās got a clear talent for it.Ā
Rating: 5/10
āBlessingā
Vocals: Malleus Draconia
Notes:Ā
FUCK OFF WITH THOSE VOCALS IN THE INTRO.Ā
So sick. Malleusās VA is incredibly talented.Ā
Heavy-metal orchestra kicks ass here too, no surprise.Ā
Malleus sounds so sly and nefarious here.
The time-signature change is excellent too! Panic is setting in, and heās losing control. Ugh, I love musical storytelling.Ā
I do wish theyād go back to a slower tempo for the chorus, though, just to really emphasize his fragile mental state. Also I like the drama of it.Ā
The vocal fry on the second verse goes hard.Ā
Chorus is a bit underwhelming, but it doesnāt fall short by much. Malleusās vocals really carry, I donāt think anyone else could pull off this song.Ā
Hi hi! I saw youāre doing matchups and I was wondering if I could have a Twisted Wonderland matchup?

I've decided to match you up with......
ACE !
I went between a lot of back and forth between him and Epel, until I read the type of person you'd like.
which is exactly Ace.
two class clowns, a teachers worst nightmare. that's what you guys look like.
I think he lies.. a lot. or at least white lies.. but you can see through them.
he appreciates someone who doesn't hide who they are, and what they feel. he may use that to his advantage sometimes, but he's someone who does what he believes in.
Both of you guys are stubborn, and I think that might end up being an issue between you two. he'll end up apologizing later, but it's gonna take time, and for deuce to tell him what your side looks like in an issue.
Social Anxiety actually fears this guy so ..... he's just friends with everyone.
"curiosity killed the cat, but satisfaction brought it back." - the motto you guys live by... genuinely.
He loves being outside, inside, whatever. Ace just loves to hang out.

== Twisted Wonderland ==>
I match you up withā¦
Jamil Viper
ā¦Pre-relationship:
You meet Jamil at a Scarabia party post-overblot, and the two of you instantly click.
The way you make jokes with him right off the bat, and the way you confidently speak to him, makes him feel assured that he doesnāt have to play social games with you.Ā
He can tell what youāre about from the get-go, and thatās surprisingly refreshing for him.Ā
You two bond instantly over a love of food, dance, and music, and you also bond over the hobbies you two donāt share in common. He likes that youāre not afraid to learn more about his likes, and somehow, he feels himself opening up to you quicker than average.Ā
The same goes for you: Jamilās honesty and desire to prove himself are admirable, and it makes you want to root for him all the way.Ā
You donāt really realize that youāve begun to let out the feelings youāve pushed down for so long until theyāve already left your lips. And certainly not by use of magic; Jamilās emotional intellegence and past experiences means heās an excellent listener, and an ever better shoulder to cry on.
Hangouts often consist of going to new restaurants around the port town, gossiping about whatever juicy rumors youāve heard in the cafeteria, and self-care days which are filled with endless relaxation.Ā
Somehow, Jamil becomes someone with whom you can have an invigorating conversation about ethics just as easily as a peaceful day basking in eachotherās company.Ā
ā¦Confession:Ā
Jamil likely realized he was in love with you early on, however he was hesitant to say anything about it. His future has always been murky, and even as he rises above his circumstances, he struggles to believe that there is a world out there that will take him as he is, no strings attached.Ā
Butā¦
He does suspect that if there is a world like that, that you are almost definitely part of it. That youāve likely already begun clearing the way for it to blossom, and for him to step into it.Ā
Itās a quiet night in, with the two of you reading together, when he tells you. It isnāt grand or bold, but the quiet sincerity and passion of his feelings reaches you just as easily.
ā¦Relationship:
You two are a power couple, for sure.Ā
You dominate the academic standings, and are never ones to trifle with, especially when youāre together.Ā
Jamil is your biggest fan in whatever you do, whether thatās challenging his fellow basketball club members to a game, or playing an instrument for him, or just existing. Heās by your side 100%, ride or die.Ā
And vice versa, of course. Your beleif in him and love for him have made him aim even higher than before, and it shows in his newfound confidence in himself and his abilities.Ā
Jamil shows his love through small gifts he buys you from time to time, as well as just by being by your side, even when things are difficult or unsure. Heās not one to back down from challenges, and heās certainly one of the most loyal people youāll ever meet once you truly earn it.Ā
(And you have).Ā
Ā You two have the most wonderful dates sitting beneath the starry night sky in the scarabia dorm, where you can see the little lights in the darkness until they disappear beyond the horizon line. Whether youāre talking or sitting in silence doesnāt matter, just that the two of you are there together. Thatās all you need.
