Who is Charmleigh Glass?

She’s the housewarden of Dodecandor, founded on the Loyal Prince’s vow of faith.

She’s 5’ 8”, 18 years old, and her birthday is July 12th.

She belongs to the Ballroom Dancing Club, and her best subject is Alchemy.

Her signature spell is Strike Midnight; she can stop time exactly when the clock strikes twelve (noon or midnight) for as long as she can hold it. Her record is 45 minutes.

She’s the heiress to a glass manufacturing dynasty in the Shaftlands. She’s an only child, but she lives with her parents, grandparents, and uncle.

Her parents insist that her top priority should be to meet someone, get married, and have kids to keep the business in the family. This pressure has led her to hide most of her true feelings; for starters, she’s been lying about having a “boyfriend in the Land of Dawning” for years to hide the fact that she’s aromantic, and she’s never told anyone that she dreams of becoming a stunt actress someday. She was thrust into the housewarden spot because of the prominence of her family, but leadership doesn’t come naturally to her and she’s starting to freak out a little.

Extra Odds and Ends

She has prosopagnosia, or face blindness, and so do a couple members of her family. She kept quiet about it for a while, which made socialization difficult for her, but once she got to Regal Shield, she finally worked up the courage to start telling her peers and asking for them to say their names when they greet her. She’s learned to recognize people by their gait, hair, body type, or their footwear if it’s consistent enough.

She has a bad habit of yawning during conversations. It makes people think she’s bored or she’s not paying attention, even if she doesn’t mean anything by it.

Fleur was her first real friend, so she was distraught when Fleur had to leave the Palazzo Bicchiere party early. She was convinced they’d never see each other again, until Fleur suddenly appeared in one of the many glass surfaces in Charmleigh’s house and started chatting away as if no time had passed at all.

She uses her signature spell when her workload overwhelms her; it gives her extra time to study or do housewarden prep. She hopes that one day she’ll figure out how to bring another person into the spell with her, so if Fleur has to go, they can get a few more minutes together before she leaves.

She has an arrangement with Bertie: Bertie teaches Charmleigh stunt tricks and parkour, Charmleigh teaches Bertie fencing, and neither tells the other’s family.

What’s up with the “Pen Pal?”

After the failure of the pilot Pen Pal program intended to foster camaraderie between Sage’s Island’s two magical schools (most of the letters NRC wrote to RSA should never be read by human eyes, and some of them were literally cursed), Royal Sword decided to pass Night Raven off on-- sorry, introduce Night Raven to its Land of Heroes sister school, Regal Shield Academy, instead. Results have been surprisingly positive, but then again, the bar was so low that it could’ve been a tripping hazard in Ancient City.
