Are you delusional or just using Ginny to bash and make Harry look like a loser? Harry is definitely not a average auror and definitely not uncool ! Don't embarrass yourself!
As a person, he’s pretty interesting. He’s entertaining and his bravery and resilience are inspiring.
And while I agree that under the circumstances he should have worked harder (at his wanded classes at least) I think to call him a lazy pig is too far. Harry has a pretty average attitude to school work. He puts more effort into what interests him (DADA) and does the bare minimum for the rest except for when exams are around.
I also think it’s unfair to put everything down to luck. He does get lucky a lot, that’s true, and I dislike that, but there are many examples of him accomplishing things without it:
He managed the Patronus at 13 and warded off a hundred Dementors.
He managed to learn the summoning charm in one night and outfly a Dragon.
He succeeds at the Banishing Charm, the Imperius Curse and the Disarming Charm to name a few on his first attempts.
He fights off the Grindylows in the lake, something Fleur, one of the proper Champions fails at.
While Fake Moody remove some of the Maze obstacles, he still overcame many of them on his own, when these were designed for students three years his senior.
He got the Owl defence curriculum down well enough that he was able to teach it, and he was a good teacher at that.
He manages to hold off the Death Eaters in the Department of Mysteries. They’re not trying to kill him, but they’re certainly trying to capture him.
He repels Voldemort, a supremely talented legilimens from his mind.
Despite being persecuted by his teacher, he manages an EE in Potions, and EEs in most subjects with an O in DADA.
In 6th year he has the presence of mind when Ron is poisoned to remember a Bezoar will work, something Slughorn, a seasoned Potions Master is slow on.
In Deathly Hallows, the Gringotts Break-in is his plan, and if not for Griphook’s betrayal (which Harry suspect would happen, just thought inevitable) would seemingly have gone off without a hitch. Even then, he adapts and manages to escape.
Upon his return to Hogwarts he has the Cruciatus down with enough skill to knock Amycus Carrow unconscious.
And these are just some of his magical accomplishments. As a person, Harry is incredibly impressive.
He’s a leader who inspires others (at 12 years old he got Ron to face down his greatest fear of Spiders, his friends decide to follow him to the DoM in spite of his admission it could be a trap, he inspires his peers to fight back against Voldemort’s army), he is ridiculously, incredible brave and resilient too, from standing to duel Voldemort in spite of his injuries and torture, Cedric’s death and what he can only see as his own death in the graveyard, to walking into the forbidden forest to let Voldemort kill him. He is, while not perfect on the whole an extremely, undeservedly kind individual. In spite of their abuse, he’s still concerned enough to see the Dursley’s to safety in DH for example.
Harry spent 10 years enduring abusive conditions and with absolutely no friends and - unlike Draco - he chose to reject his toxic upbringing and treat people with kindness and decency. He constantly put his friends and fellow students above himself even when they turned on him (which happened on more than one occasion). Not to mention that when the chips were down, he was basically always the one who got the job done. Quirrell, Basilisk, Dementors, Voldemort multiple times etc. In the Battle of the Department of Mysteries, he - along with Neville - was still standing when the Order arrived while everyone else had gone down. He was the only person smart enough to deduce the correct path of the Elder Wand and thus figure out that he actually had the advantage when everyone else who knew about the wand assumed Voldemort did. He figured that out in the middle of a huge battle. Good luck to anyone else in the entire series piecing that together in those circumstances. Not the first time either; just by watching Malfoy's behaviour in Diagon Alley, he deduced that Malfoy joined the Death Eaters, which nobody outside of Dumbledore (who already knew) believed. Harry's logical/tactical sense is very underrated. And in case anyone forgot...he willingly walked into what looked for all the world like a certain death sentence when he allowed Voldemort to strike him down, just so the world would have a chance to defeat him.
Sure, he's impulsive and quick to anger, but all that does is make him human. His kindness, empathy and courage far outstrip his flaws and bear in mind, he turned out to be a truly good person even while a piece of Voldemort was literally living in him. Wearing a Horcrux as a necklace was enough to amplify a person's negative traits, so imagine how much worse it would be with it actually merged with you. That Harry overcame that and an abusive upbringing to still be so good is a strength of character unmatched in the series.
Also, small thing, but his sassy snark is up there with the Twins and Ron for best humour in the series.
Harry Potter is an amazing character and a truly extraordinary person.
