Carl: For the last few months, he [Peter] has never even listened to anyone or anything… I don’t know what to do anymore. And I am not really a strong person myself … Our relationship when I just met Peter was completely opposite to what it is right now. During that time I was depressed just like Peter is, and I was thinking only about death everyday. And Peter is the one who always encouraged me, saying, “You’ve got music. Are you going to die with your talent unrewarded and buried inside? Everyone is gonna die in the end anyway, so you should try and see how far we can go with music before you die.
Interviewer: That’s actually very surprising. We are used to seeing you being always cheerful unlike Peter, who easily bursts into tears or loses his temper.
Carl: It’s called a mask. […] Basically, Peter and I have a very similar nature … That’s why it gets out of control when we clash. We have had a relationship like this for many years. It’s really tough … it’s like hell.
Interviewer: From your frank observation, how much of a possibility do you think there is of Peter coming back to the band in the near future?
Interviewer: Do you want Peter to come back, to be honest?
Carl: I do, of course I do (bursts into tears). Peter is the only person I could trust for so long. I cannot express my feelings by words like lonely or left behind. It’s like something was suddenly scooped out from the inside of me. … To tell the truth, I have a twin brother who died when I was a child. And Peter would say to me, “Even if no one stays around you in the future, I will never leave you, because I am a reincarnation of your lost twin brother.” I still believe what he said then. And I believe that he will come back to me, no matter how long it would take.
