did you see the diffyg ar yr haul yesterday?
Ooooh, that's funny - I was just on the phone with someone and we discussed this very term!
So diffyg ar yr haul literally translates as "an absence of the sun" or "a flaw of the sun" - basically, it suggests there's a problem with the sun.
I can't help but wonder if this is a hangover from when early cultures saw eclipses as terrifying omens or a real problem with the sun, and not just the moon going on a jolly for a few minutes. Did early Welsh people look up at the darkening sky and go, "Ah, fuck, sun's broken"?
Anyway, I did see it; or rather, I saw the sky go dark. I didn't find out about the eclipse in time to sort out a safe way to look at it, so I just appreciated the darkness instead - even we undead horses have to look after our eyesockets!
Dammit. He’s so gorgeous.

2008 reunion.
speaking for him when he's there to answer for himself.. smiles
I only listen to audiobooks when I go running, but I'm nearly done with my current one (Is A River Alive? by Robert MacFarlane) and these are the ones I've currently bookmarked to potentially listen to, if anyone has opinions on any titles.
sorry but i do think we have to kill them.
Earlier this year, I interpreted all the Journal For Plague Lovers remixes as paper collage pieces, and then wrote about my thoughts on each remix, and what I thought they did well when it comes to expressing or reinterpreting the original tracks, and my collage process.
You can find my commentary for each collage/track here.

i can now do the splits all the way down on both sides (although right leg forward is not quite as stable)
also when i was stretching today before working out i decided to see if i can still to a somersault/forward roll and i in fact can
my next goals are going to be relearning how to do a handstand and being able to do middle splits (which is way harder than regular splits)
i have no real reason to want to do these things except that it's fun to regain skills i had as a little kid when i did gymnastics, and also because it's cool to be in my 30s and still be able to move like a kid
Someone asked me a while ago if I still had a photo of the worst sink I had ever seen while apartment hunting in Los Angeles. I assumed I deleted it so I didn't answer the ask and now it's gone, but as it turns out, yes, I do still have a photo of it.
