cada vez que se sientan woke, les recuerdo que cuando hablan en inglés, utilizan el término “poc” o simplemente “not white” para referirse a personas de diferentes razas.

La supremacía blanca avasalla y contamina la cultura de tal forma que hay personas que hoy por hoy definen su identidad como algo que no son.

El “poc” (person of color) engloba a asiáticos, “Latinos”, negros, indios, mulatos, indígenas, mestizos… porque para estos bolas de aca: es la gente blanca vs los demás.

Lo mismo sucede con el término “Latino”. Es una palabra que ellos usan para generalizar a toooodaaaas las personas (descendientes o nacidos) de Latinoamérica. ¿Por qué lo hacen? Bueno porque son supremacistas y crean categorías para minimizar tu sentido de pertenencia a un lugar, o simplemente para designarte bajo una categoría dentro de su mundo. De la misma manera que siguen usando el término “African-American” para discriminar ciudadanos americanos (que nacieron en EEUU y jamás pisaron África!!).

Así que (como persona bilingüe) mi consejo? Es no usar más esos términos y no dejarnos colonizar la cabeza con términos supremacistas. Sobre todo, cuando ya nos vemos forzados a aprender inglés como segunda lengua.

i like to imagine how people in the post-material-scarcity future would romanticise the current time period.

having a job gave people a sense of community and purpose lacking in our modern age where nobody is forcing you to get out of bed on threat of starvation. actually the average office worker in the early 21st century was so much wealthier than a UBI-having-modern if you forget to count paying rent and also make some very bad purchasing power conversions. if you look at contemporary records (sitcom where the main characters are only at work when it's plot relevant) it is obvious that employment was never really a major obstacle to having an active social life or pursuing your own passions.
