(re)introduction
hi! welcome to my health/healing sideblog!!
you can call me tea :)
currently I am trying to recover from a depressive episode where I was basically bed-bound for a few months.
I want to heal my body and mind and I think I am going start to use this blog to vent motivate myself and mark my progress/accomplishments.
the plan, recommended by my doctor, is to eat mostly whole food, plant-based; have a consistent movement practice; meditate daily; go to therapy; socialize; and limit caffeine (😭).
my biggest challenges are depression and bad sleep/bad fatigue. I know from experience that movement helps with energy, but I have a hard time getting the ball rolling.
what's keeping me motivated is that I really want to heal my depression/sleep apnea/ acid reflux/ migraines with lifestyle changes because medications have consistently not been working. I also want to be able to keep up with my one-year-old niece. And I just want to have energy for once. I want to feel capable and confident.
for general reference, I am 5’5 (165 cm), in my 30s, and use U.S. measurements. I also am very privileged to be working with a team of doctors, dietitians, and health coaches (my job has great insurance and free health programs that I keep signing up for).
wish me luck,
Tea (they/them)
P.S. I do mention weight loss and my own weight. I do not encourage EDs (of any kind) but I do often encourage reaching a healthy weight for your height/circumstances using nutritious, sustainable, science-backed habits.
P.P.S. I block racists, transphobes and other bigots!
