You gotta be really publicly passionate about things if you want your friends to text you. Bc people will forget to text you because they’re human. A funny, bordering on charming example of people knowing about Octavia Butler but not actually reading her is that I saw a picture of a book display labeled, “they saw it coming” with several of her books on it, including the one where earth is taken over by tentacled aliens who make humans be in polycules with them.
