Started reading Worth the Candle (thank you @vren-diagram !) and my initial impression, from the plain prose and annoying references (calling the second instance of something electric boogaloo...) is that this book is basically if Ready Player One were somehow good
Little known fact but it's only possible to get isekaied if you know ten thousand annoying pop culture references.
This is actually why NEET max-level MMO junkies are so prone to getting isekaied: While their overall pop-culture knowledge level is merely average (by the high standards of all-day-inside gamers), their encyclopedic knowledge of one specific game's long history of quirks & forum flame wars places them on the long tail of isekai likelihood.
