so you're all still here, huh? how lovely it is, to see you again. I've recently been trying to construct a facsimile of wakeful death, but for myriad reasons am moving on now to other endeavors. What have you been up to?

It happened to me.
It was like an orgasm times 100. I thought I might die. In years of kink writing, I'd never felt anything so scary
'Over 100 economists sign letter to [policy proposal]' is a funny headline because the first three times you read it you're shocked that the world has slipped so far away from its longstanding neoliberal consensus. And you shake your head and you're very sad about fascism's imminent rise. But by the fourth time it'll occur to you that 100 is not really that many economists, and it'll seem prudent to check them out, because hey, maybe there are some big names in there, you're an adult, you've heard of some economists. And as you look at the names, which are unfamiliar to you, because you've optimistically heard of the freakonomics guy, you'll discover that half of them share an institutional affiliation. Which is weird. It's not even like an important one. And looking into it more you'll find out about how that particular economics department is, infamously, captured by tenured communists, and has been since 1973.
Really enjoying the fact that only some of the people interacting with this know the degree to which it's not a joke.
A passing remark in a podcast on Chatrie reminds me I still have a Roku TV, which brags on its package of voice activation and doubtless, Smirnoffishly, listens to me. There must be some keywords that turn them against you—some sequence of sounds that raise silent alarm, where a whisper of vice near a so-called assistant Benito Cerenos the digital swarm. Or maybe they don't, or they will, or don't need to—you'll make yourself crazier trying to guess. This whole line of thinking is deeply neurotic; in general, things just work out for the best.

It happened to me.
I keep waking up from dreams where I'm the big spoon.
Wouldn't be notable except anything like this was gone for a long time. I like that it's back.

ethical nightmare coming up when we figure out how to kick the child abuse genes out of designer babies and create the first generation of kids who don't retrocausally deserve it
Dentists larp as doctors but they're basically bug people. You can just call the dentist and tell them to give you a lower price and to see you sooner and they'll do that. Why? Because they're pathetic worms. Deserving of both your malice and hatred.
its crazy how if america goes down the drain theres no backup
sorry for being insufferable for a few days, probably the next few weeks if we're being honest. I've been having a really good time, I'm kind of in an altered state of mind. One thing that's true about this is that music is much better for me right now than it has been in the last ~3 years. If you wanted to send me music recommendations I'm in a really good mood to receive them.
it's surprisingly easy now to get a robot to put all of these into a playlist while already on a walk.
@transgenderer recs:
really long lead in. like it nearly faded into the background of perception, despite being a guy audibly speaking french
ultimately gets very rhythmic! the looping is good. I really appreciate it when music imparts a 'rolling forward' sensation
the woodwind section at the end pulls things together nicely! trippy effect overall.
(summer again): have u listened to 69 love songs yet. i feel like everyone has but anyone who hasnt must
Yes :). I think originally on the advice of @mother-sauces ? Or my last ex, maybe a few minutes after we had sex for the ? third ? time. Weird wires to get crossed. They're not all hits, and my faves are probably boring, but they are:
(honorable mentions for sweet lovin' man/papa was a rodeo/busby berkely dreams/ferdinand)
(summer again): oh similarly about illinois
I like all of Illinois a lot! Extremely unified piece though. I feel like you need to listen to the whole album. There's occasion! Perhaps I should soon...
(summer again): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fNQ_3TCnAyw
(Psycho Tropical Berlin, La Femme)
Ok I REALLY liked this. Rock is so good when you can't understand any of the words. Awesome recommendation. Si Un Jour has made it into a daily listening rotation. + I love to watch the French Women get jump cut in dim light/smoke. They're cultivating Hype! and Aura!
The whole album lives up to its name.
(summer again): https://mammalhands.bandcamp.com/album/gift-from-the-trees
Pissed me off a lot on the walk where I listened to all of these because it felt like edging. They build for so long and then it's like.... it's barely anything! Good if you're in the mood for that sort of thing though.
(summer again): okay here's a genuine deep cut:
You know how Orson Welles puts the shriek in as the narrative progresses to Xanadu? This is really fun. I have to listen to the whole album soon, it's rare that (I'm guessing this is an interlude piece?) an interlude piece works on its own, let alone well, or out of its original context. The relatively monotone american neutral voice has a musicality you never think about if you don't have cable.
(summer again) oh brendan macleans population ep: https://brendanmaclean.bandcamp.com/album/population
I liked "Stupid (Stereogamous Remix)"! Comprehension of the rest of the work eludes me. Tips are welcome. Directional evidence of your heterosexuality I think.
(summer again):
Actually viscerally uncomfortable to listen to. Novel experience I may repeat. Exactly what you'd expect from a guy named 'Constant Unwell'. Nominative determinism strikes again!
(summer again):
I do not get this one.
Very good hit rate overall.
@fluxion-fluent recs:
Confused by the choice to do drums super early here. Gets pretty good around the two minute mark and then dropping the drums for a more lonely electronic line is fun. Like chasing instruments. A narrative structure. Song that suggests personas of its constituents. Kinda feels like it should be on a modded FTL's OST.
(fluxion again) if i could force everyone on earth to listen to one track it would be this warning: very loud scream at the start, demon rape (i think?)
waoh. highly the kind of thing that was good when I asked for recommendations. lots of weird details. unexpectedly develops into normal-ish music at some point. how did you come across this?
fluxion again: something a little softer
Both misses. This is OK. I encourage a hits based recommendation approach. Like Open Phil.
