my first hate ask yay! trans women are seen by the patriarchy as women, because of their feminine appearance and otherwise feminine traits. trans women (especially transitioned women) dont have male privilege in the slightest. i wasnt seen as a real man by boys in my age group for my entire childhood, nor by any of the girls.
And trans men are likewise not seen as men, not even "failed men". They're women in the eyes of the patriarchy, failed women in need of correction.

i think part of the reason that "trans men dont have male privilege" has become so popular (other than a refusal to accept trans men ARE men for real and not some fake simulacrum, among many other things) is that 'male privilege' is seen by many as a sort of abstract omnipotent superpower that has to be consciously enforced specifically by cis white men and not like. a systemic force built into the foundation of the societies we live in and grow up in.

i’ve been seeing a lot of posts about transandrophobia vs transmisogyny lately and, as a trans man, it just feels utterly bewildering. transmisogyny is specifically referencing the intersectionality between being trans and being a woman, and the specific oppression that trans women face because of that intersectionality. we’re transandrophobia to exist, it would reference the intersectionality between being trans and being a man, which is impossible because men do not experience oppression based on their gender. oppression does of course differ between transmascs and transfems because they’re treated different by society, and they both experience transphobia, but transmascs cannot, BY DEFINITION, experience a one-to-one with transmisogyny.
this is what i mean when i say that transandrophobia doesnt exist!!!! transphobia towards trans men does exist!!! transandrophobia doesnt!!!!!!!!!!!
