if i could give one piece of advice to newly transitioning trans men, it's that it's 100% possible to find a community of people (including women!) who don't treat you as a threat, and the people trying to convince you otherwise are not your friends
Also, perhaps, have we considered that it's actually really bad that we treat closeted trans women (and closeted nonbinary people, and frankly cis men too) this way? Like. It's a bad thing that trans women are treated like distrustful monsters for """"being men"""" before coming out by one demographic and then are also treated like distrustful monsters after coming out for being trans by another. That's not a sign of a culture with a healthy relationship with gender in the slightest!!!
Have we considered that treating people as inherently dangerous or distrustful by virtue of their gender alone is in fact, the very gender essentialism that perpetuates radical feminism in our spaces and that is something that we should be working on stamping out?
I am genuinely sorry that people across multiple different identity lines experience this shit because no trans person should be treated like a distrustful monster just by virtue of their gender identity before or after coming out.

hey yall know that reclaiming slurs doesnt mean using the slurs against people as slurs right? like when normal people say "reclaiming slurs" what we mean is taking away the power of the slurs by using them for yourself or your loved ones who reclaim it so when youre called a slur your brain goes to "oh, all my friends!" and it doesnt sting so bad, we're not saying to just call people slurs because youre a bigot whos hiding behind your identity
Anyway shoutout to John Williams, amazing composer and probably the one who made the other 50% of "holy shit amazing" soundtracks (Jurassic Park, Star Wars, Superman, and incidentally the original Harry Potter theme and score) who famously worked closely with the first openly transgender woman to be nominated for an Academy Award, Angela Morley. He respected her, and so far as I can see, has never made transphobic remarks.
Deeply dissappointing to see "treating everyone i percieve as a man as a predator" is something the trans community cannot see as one of the many roots behind transmisogynistic and transphobic violence from cis women and instead adopting it as part of what some niche parts of tumblr is wrongly labelling "transfeminism" (which it isn't, it is antithetical to many actually written forms of transfeminism that let go of this incredibly basic cishet and exclusionary feminism years ago).
Until you realise there is no One specific way anyone of any gender can look, including cishet men, you will forever be a fool who cannot see transphobia and transmisogyny under your very nose. You will blindly support a transphobic cis women when she comes crying to you about a "scary man she had to call the cops on" when she has in fact just commited an act of transmisogyny in percieving a trans woman as a threat and decided to put her in danger. Or racism! This is also a bioessentialist genderessentialist excuse used to get away with racist violence towards black people.
You have to believe women and all victims (nonbinary people, trans people including trans men, we all have incredibly high rates of assault and violence against us) but you can never allow yourself to fall into binaristic thinking and belief that there is a specific Look that denotes a Gender that can be avoided to avoid danger. It is not needed to help you deel with ousting the individual predators around you. You have to become okay existing in spaces with people you percieve as cis men or you will be actively being bigoted and anti-trans, many trans people of any gender could look like what your idea of a cis man looks like. You have to stop assigning violence to any given Look. You have to stop making excuses for widely critisized parts of radfeminism purely because existing in aa world with an easy Good and Bad binary makes you more comfortaable.
"Anyone who looks like what i think a cishet man looks like is a threat" is not a politically sound belief, it is a trauma response you should seek help for. It is not your fault you have been traumatised, the world and the patriarchy are horrific to you. But to use that as a FACT is a route towards so mamy documented transphobic and racist crimes. People kill trans people and black people over this. Do better. Your white transphobic feminism is not good enough. We have moved onto more informed and inclusive forms of feminism already.
Trans women are being barred from bathrooms and queer spaces because this transphobic feminist ideal. Cis women decide trans women are a threat because in their transphobic minds they percieve them as having "come from" this state of the Always Predator Group, or they look at them and decide they still look "too much like cishet men" and it is violently disgusting that this outdated exclusionary feminism allows them to do this without being challenged, because challenging it becomes something you can be accused of not listening to victims over. Well it should be challenged, loudly, because it is nothing but a reactionary, fascist "right to comfort" talking point used to try to soften the public facing image of transmisogyny with "but think of the cis women!" Statements that make their comfort more important than a trans womans safety. Challenge it. And do not bring it into our as trans peoples own feminism and theory. You can do better than our oppressors.
And also as an aside do not think you are slick when you say "gee why are men all of a sudden talking back when we do this". It is obvious when you remove the trans signifier before the word man because it surely wouldnt be "all of a sudden" if you were talking about cishet men. It is obvious you are not talking about misogynistic cishet men, you are angry that your basic and outdated anti-trans feminism is being challenged to include trans people. Do better. Not that this belief even supports any other trans people like trans women either, as mentioned it is deeply transmisogynistic in its history, but people will allow transmisogyny to fester if it allows them to wield radfeminism against other trans people so that is not a surprising concept.
elliot page is a fantastic example of how people will completely misrepresent reality to justify their belief that trans men have male privilege. page was a successful actor with many roles in blockbuster films pre transition, and while he did get some hate for not being ultra feminine it was generally agreed he was attractive and desirable. post transition literally every single social media post or news article is overflowing with vicious hatred, saying he’s ugly and cringe and ruined. the odyssey is his first big role since coming out, and from what ive read it seems his character is promptly killed off. objectively, elliot page has been treated worse after coming out, both by the public and in his industry. but the sexist director in charge of the film wrote a slightly better role for him this time so that alone is proof he has male privilege?
every time a trans man is harmed, it cannot have anything to do with his gender identity. any time he is hated it is borderline coincidental that it happened to him and not someone more worthy of suffering. but the slightest amount of being treated not like shit? male privilege in action. proof that we’re all lying bitche- er, birthday boys.

My friend Wesal (@deemagaza) doesn't speak English. The only way she can find her way around the English internet is by using Google Translate or ask others like me for help. It is very difficult for her.
Yet she has no choice but to do so for her daughter Farah, almost sixteen now, who is autistic and has a kidney problem that - without treatment - makes her deficient in potassium, which, if it becomes too severe, can lead to cardiac arrest.
^ Farah spends most of her days like this now, feeling uncomfortable in her body, but not understanding why.
Farah's medication has become unavailable in Gaza, which has endangered her life and means she has to be treated in the hospital, which is costly and where they are running out of resources as well. Farah's case has now been referred to the WHO to be transferred abroad. If the opportunity for evacuation arises, we must make sure the funds are available!

Most trans mascs are not out here claiming to have a 'mystical' connection to womanhood. If a trans woman had prostate cancer she should be able to get treatment for it without having to be misgendered, same as how when trans men have cervical cancer or pregnancy they need access to 'womens' healthcare. If someone else feels a connection to their AGAB because I don't know maybe that was decades of their life their experience doesn't invalidate anyone else's. A trans person saying they feel connected to their life pre transition and/or they still need healthcare for the organs they don't want is not at all the same as saying that people transitioning the other direction can never have the same connection to that gender.
