these get reposted a whole lot from here to reddit to twitter to tiktok and on and on, and i don't personally care whether or not i'm credited. i made these for everyone to use, enjoy, and find meaning in them. i appreciate folks who do credit me, but if able, please at least link to the threadless shop in the previous post - folks can get an official shirt where 90% of earnings go to trans led orgs focused on mental health (which is an important matter in general, but very personal to me) and not from a scam bot site selling AI-churned maga garbage where you probably won't get one anyway. i also suggest downloading the files from my ko-fi - they are free/PWYW and you can use them to make your own shirt, patch, embroidery project, whatever. tips are always nice, cuz i do like a pizza now and then, but never required for download.

TL;DR: ICE Out Minnesota is tomorrow, Friday, Jan 23rd. No work. No shopping. Protest.

I am a Minnesotan, and over the past couple weeks ICE has been ramping up operations here. You’ve heard of them hitting Twin Cities, but also into other areas too. Adults and children have been yanked off the street, at their work, attacked in their homes, and even off school busses.

 A rural school near me had to block agents from entering the building to detain students during the school day. The factory my friend works at has been at half-staff all week because most of their employees are terrified of being taken. I recently volunteered to help stand watch at a local Catholic church that ICE was scoping out to pounce on midnight mass attendees.

They are not targeting the allegedly “violent and dangerous.” They are after anyone who doesn’t look white. ICE has attacked and even killed protesters with no accountability. They actively lie to the public and have the Republican politicians in power lying for them. ICE is a means to hurt the most vulnerable and maintain political power by frightening any dissent.

For my fellow Minnesotans, tomorrow Jan 23rd is ICE Out MN . No work, school, or shopping. Protest where you can and stay warm. Let’s melt ICE together.

Instead, respond as though whatever threat they are afraid of is fully valid, and offer whatever you can do to help- ask if they believe they are in danger of being hurt in any way, and work accordingly.

If they're overreacting, they'll usually realize and dial it back, self-correct and begin thinking a bit more rationally.

1.there were trees at the beginning of the world! there were trees so long ago that they predate bacteria that causes wood to decay. when a tree fell, it would lie there in stasis and there wasn’t any way of breaking down wood xylem on a molecular level in that way.

2. it seems obvious to say, but wood eating bacteria are literally incapable of comprehending what they’re breaking down. It’s just not information conciously available to a microorganism. they don’t know what they’re deconstructing, where it came from, bacteria have no way to even fathom the existence of a tree as a concept.

3. Regardless of the facts above, the world we live in today is a world where wood inevitably decomposes

You live in a reality that allows for existence before the possibility of destruction. you live in a reality where uncomprehending microbes break down matter that is so far beyond the scope of their comprehension that it feels comical to specify something so obvious. you live in a reality that occasionally allows unshakeable physical truths to be altered with no warning.

It is worth fighting the unkillable god because trees are so old they predate the source of their destruction, and it still did not spare them. It is worth fighting the unkillable god because bacteria rots unthinkingly, because there is room in our cosmos for destruction without comprehension on the part of the destroyer. It is worth fighting the unkillable god because now and then reality retracts the promise of immortality without fanfare, and when that happens there is no mercy for the ancient. the unmaking is not softer for the desecrators ignorance. for all things, existence is endless until the exact point where it ends.

fight the unkillable god, because you may be the first bacterium to take a successful bite.

So, companies are tracking you no matter what you do, but this specifically is something I care about deeply.

Essentially, when you share a link, sometimes it has extra data that tracks where it comes from and goes.

Opening Spotify, clicking the first item, and using the share button, I get something like open.spotify.com/track/4P0f1HTaA2UwtLJGryNgJZ?si=DBvbfihOSweU1KHj9Mib8w

That ?si=...........…. is the tracker. It tells Spotify who clicks on the link and ties it to you, meaning Spotify knows who your friends are even if you never follow them.

Similarly, if on Amazon or EBay in the browser, I get something like www.ebay.com/itm/146493392451?_skw=lenovo&itmmeta=............&hash=item................&itmprp=enc..............

And, similarly, everything after the question mark is tracking you. I had to blank it out because it was so long!

There is an exception for a few things (I.E. the v=..... on YouTube, but not the si=..... on YouTube)

The general rule is delete everything after the ? and if it breaks, add something back.

She hates the rain and lightning so we're just curled up in bed holding each other and watching rat videos on YouTube.

A torrential downpour began quite suddenly. My door was only open a sliver; I was on the bed. Fancy HOWLED in the hallway and I called for her. She came running and literally LEAPED through the door, slamming it open, then ran onto the bed.

She literally jumped into my arms. No animal has ever done that.

And my hand to god I have never, ever loved any animal as much as I love Fancy. I have loved some of my cats beyond all reason, but she is something wonderful and new.
