1. The character’s survival, and the story of their journey, is dictated by polls, meaning depending on what the community on [tumblr] decides their story should be, their “powers” or “abilities” will not save them on their journey to hunt down the other 3 characters. 2. The whole reason picking the lock causes it to explode is because you’re touching the explosive device inside when you try to pick it. If you attempt to smash the lock you’ll certainly touch the device and it will explode anyways. That’s like saying you can break a cup of water without spilling the water everywhere. Even if you try to do something like saw the lock off or dissolve it in acid, it’s a really big risk.

I wouldn’t have created this game if I hadn’t thought of every possible outcome and your favorite character’s instincts.

for example: the reason the knight in deltarune seems to be such a lover of the cutscene-no-jutsu is diegetic - this means it exists in the world, not just for our convenience.

the reason for this is that dark worlds are allegorical for the process of "play" (stuff to look up: Huizinga, Salen, Zimmerman, "The Magic Circle", "Homo Ludens") - a playground world where everyone agrees with the same rules.

sidebar: "play" if children play "knights," then a cardboard tube is a sword because everyone agrees it is. if children play tag, then touching someone suddenly has magical significance because everyone agrees to it. the "magic circle" is the name these scholars give to that invisible boundary around a game. once you're inside it, everyone accepts the game's rules. this is what "play" means in an academic context.

in this allegory, the knight is an outsider who does not care about the rules - call it a schoolyard bully if you want - and for whom the play doesn't matter if they refuse the frame entirely. cutscenes are not bound by the "play". participating in the battles means participating in the "play" (there's many reasons why the action button is literally 'act', this is one of them).

your cardboard armor doesn't mean anything against a baseball bat if the person with the bat doesn't agree that it's secretly steel. being in deltarune's rpg battles means that you are being pulled into the "play", which is why in chapter 3 kris needs to basically fudge it to get the fight back into cutscene mode since they are in cahoots.

all the other secret bosses, by elaboration, do believe in and participate in (to some extent) the "playground".

I imagine that once Khan learns the full extent of how Uzi was treated, he’s absolutely furious, and wants to put the kibosh on it. He tries not to get too involved, as he doesn’t want to make Uzi think that he doesn’t think she can handle those things herself.

But sometimes, he can’t help but make threats like this, especially when he gets particularly pissed off. She’s his daughter, after all.

The US Government is currently trying to pass an incredibly dangerous national law for trans youth called HR 2616.

This bill would ban all Federally funded schools from teaching about gender identity or sexual orientation, prevent teachers from using the correct pronouns and names for trans students, remove books with any trans representation in them, and even go as far as to prevent teachers from acknowledging trans identity AT ALL.

Any school that does not follow this will lose all federal funding. This bill would also require teachers to forcibly out trans students to their families, which would be fatal to any trans student with a transphobic Family or just hateful family in general. Trans people are already a group that already has some of the highest rates of being victim to suicide, domestic violence, and sexual assault.

This bill actively makes teachers put those innocent children at such a big risk. This bill has rapidly passed the house this week with support from all 209 republicans, as well as 8 democrats. But, it's still being voted on in the senate, which means there is still time to help stop this.

To help stop this, you can visit 5calls.org (look up 2616 in the search bar), one of the most top issues filed Oppose Attacks on LGBTQ+ Students. Once you put in your general location, it will pull-up contact information for your senator, and give you a script for calling them.
