Simon is Johnny’s true home in human form. He’s something the Scot could never bear to lose. His steady comfort when shit hit the fan and he needed a warm place to lay his head and hide.

Gaz is the brother he wish he’d had growing up. He would’ve definitely been the one chasing Soap with a knife. Staying up late watching telly, trying not to wake ma up with laughter.

Price is the dad he wish he’d had.

He remembers brief snippets of his father. But they were never kind memories—so he paints over them with the Captain.

Sunday dinners, getting his first car, shooting his first gun, having his first drink, his first heartbreak. Painted over to make the memories fonder.

Laswell reminds him of his ma. Strict when needed, but filled with enough love to share with everyone. Always offering a gentle hand when the lad was in over his head.

Johnny of course sometimes misses the family he never got to have, the people he lost. Hell some nights he’s cried himself to sleep over it. But he wouldn’t change this family for anything….

on missions first one out when given the go ahead, does not care to eat first nor if the bed roll is set as long as there's nothing pointy it's a perfect sleeping surface for you

soap is a touchy person in general so he welcomes your dead weight slumping against him no questions needed anytime anywhere. he's got you covered

gaz most times is fine with it, is more okay when it's more private like in his room or the rec room. something about wanting to seem professional in public.

ghost, only at night only whenever you look more lost/distressed/etc than usual in his private room something about you being too vulnerable sleeping and he needs to watch your six. he uses you as his emotional support weighted blanket

price something about you knocking out in his office while doing paperwork so he carried you to bed, it was a long mission you deserved it

nik it was a restock/layover and you pulled the long stick so you got to stay as the rest of the team checked the perimeter. he's v warm so much so as you sit next to him you sleep on his shoulder

14 years ago when I had recently moved to Alaska, I went hiking with an Aleut friend, and she pointed to a feather lying on the ground and said "hey that's a bald eagle tail feather, you should grab it!" and I was like "uhh I'm very white and that's very illegal" and she went "they're fuckin everywhere up here man. I have 20." so she grabs it off the ground and hands it to me and says "there, now it's a ceremonial gift from an indigenous person."

and I'm like, okay, cool, I guess this is how we do things in Alaska. nice.

so I keep this bald eagle tail feather around for years. display it in my home among other cherished memorabilia from places I've lived and visited, etc.

on a whim, I have just now looked it up. there is no exemption to that law for a ceremonial gift from an indigenous person. the last 7 years I lived in the US, I was technically a bald eagle poacher.
