Dio’s mother was of noble blood (or at least origins) and it’s suggested she might’ve eloped with his father

Dio received most of his early education from his mother

He used to be made fun of because of his mother’s kindness and naivety in the slums, which is why he thought she was foolish, but retracted (to an extent) on that statement later on in his life

His mother never stopped defending his father, no matter how abused she got

The 14 phrases used to enter Heaven in Part 6 are in fact a lullaby Dio’s mother used to sing to him to help him fall asleep.

His mother was also very pious and would often talk about going to Heaven.

Dio was going to have a sibling (to which he quite caringly refers to as “little brother” or “little sister”) but his father’s abuse caused his mother to miscarry. He still remembers that 100 years later and wonders whether some of the women he’s impregnated could’ve miscarried due to to him being a vampire.

The primary reason behind his hate for the Joestar family is the fact he considers them to be ‘inheritors’ aka people who never had to work or fight for their privileges.

He compares Jonathan to his father, who never worked for anything in his life, but at the same time realizes his wish to crush him is similar to his father’s abuse towards his mother and feels disgusted with himself.

He bears HUGE respect towards Erina, constantly comparing her to his late mother and even calling her a ‘holy woman’, to the point of getting actual delusions. He doesn’t say a single bad word about her throughout his entire diary. Seriously, people who say Dio hated Erina need to take a moment to reconsider.

The concept of ‘holy women’ keeps coming back to him - other women he’s called that include his mother, Sherry Polnareff and Holly Kujo. And he’s very far from being a misogynist, contrary to popular belief. 

Jonathan’s unwavering kindness towards him genuinely hurts him.

He says Jonathan is the only man he’s ever respected.

According to Dio himself, the reason behind his Stand’s powers is related to the scene from the manga when he borrowed a pocket watch from Jonathan and never had a chance to return it - he said he “wouldn’t return the watch until it stopped”.

He believes things could’ve turned out differently had Mary Joestar been there to raise him.

$7.25 x 40 hour full time work week: $290

$290 x 4 weeks per month: $1,160

That weekly check comes to, according to you, 290. Most places DO NOT pay for your half hour lunch that is required by law. So your beginning number was wrong. $7.25 x 7.5 hours a day x 5 days a week only gets you $271.88.  Most people in America get paid bi-weekly, so let’s double it to get the budget. $543.75. That’s GROSS, not NET. Out of that comes anywhere between 10% and 15% taxes depending on state so we’ll low ball it at 10%. Automatically down to $489.38 a pay check. Now health insurance. Usually anywhere from 70-100 a pay check for the cheapest plans. Again, we’ll low ball and go $70. So now we have $419.39 a paycheck. x 2  = $839. 

Eight hundred thirty nine dollars. A MONTH.

But again, you seem to think that’s fair. So let’s proceed. You say rent is $500? Okay. This person now has $339 left to buy groceries for the whole month, pay utilities, car payment, car insurance, and gas money to get to work. 

Those are the bare needs. You have to eat. You have to pay for heat, water, garbage removal, gas and or electricity because apartments do not always include things and rarely all of the above. Most cities in America do not have public transportation. Mine doesn’t despite the fact that our population is over 15,000 people, not counting a taxi. If you have a car, you have to pay that. If you have a car, legally you have to have car insurance. You have to pay that. You have to have gas in that car to get to work to make that money.

Now if you can tell me you can get all of that out of $339 you’re lying.

You are so focused on rent that you aren’t thinking about everything else people have to pay for. Rent was an example. This is a breakdown of the budget you gave me and it’s not possible to live off that in 2017 America. 

And BECAUSE this person makes over $800 a month, they probably won’t qualify for financial aid or food stamps. $800 is the line in my state where they won’t help you. No food stamps, financial aid, or government housing if you make more than $800 a month. 

It’s possible to technically have the money for something but not be able to afford it.

The standard for being able to afford housing is if it costs less than 30% of a person’s income, since the cost of living is a lot more than just housing.

Minimum wage of $7.25 per hour, 40 hours per week, 4.35 weeks per month totals $1,260 per month. This means that they can afford housing that costs 30% of that, which is $378.

So even if there are apartments for $500 in every state, they still can’t afford anywhere near that.

That’s basically a blow-for-blow on how the ultra rich plan on dealing with climate change.

And y'all remember also how if you figure out how to kill Mr. House and eat his corpse you get a special achievement?

And the quest name is literally, “No God, No Masters”.

Josh Sawyer, one of the original developers, as you say, could possibly support anarchist and communist ideals.

But then you have Todd Howard, who is clearly a capitalist, and has made statements (in particular, the “degenerates” comment at E3, which is a HUGE red flag) that hit at possible support, or even harboring, of fascist ideals.

Given that possibility, the portrayal of the Brotherhood in Fallout 4 makes a horrifying amount of sense. The once-noble faction from Fallout 3 was warped beyond both reason and the willing suspension of disbelief into blatant fascists, because Todd sees no problem with that.

Same with Skyrim’s Blades. A formerly noble faction in Oblivion, turned into blatant fascists with a genocidal agenda for no reason whatsoever. Because Todd doesn’t see this as a problem.

He, and all Bethesda writers obviously knew that many players - for whom Oblivion and Fallout 3 were their first Bethesda games - would default to seeing the Blades and BoS as they saw them in previous games; as noble, heroic, and gravitate to following them. Only to find out that they’re nothing of the sort.

But if anything, the overwhelmingly negative community reaction to the Skyrim Blades, and the less overwhelming but nonetheless present negative reaction to the FO4 Brotherhood, shows that Todd’s gambit didn’t work. People saw these factions for who they are, and have rightly criticized them exhaustively.

And I mean, even for people who do like the FO4 BoS, most of them are either diehard Danse fans, or they’re people who made AUs or mods where Maxson can be overthrown.

Last year, I got invited to a super-deluxe private resort to deliver a keynote speech to what I assumed would be a hundred or so investment bankers. It was by far the largest fee I had ever been offered for a talk — about half my annual professor’s salary — all to deliver some insight on the subject of “the future of technology.”

I’ve never liked talking about the future. The Q&A sessions always end up more like parlor games, where I’m asked to opine on the latest technology buzzwords as if they were ticker symbols for potential investments: blockchain, 3D printing, CRISPR. The audiences are rarely interested in learning about these technologies or their potential impacts beyond the binary choice of whether or not to invest in them. But money talks, so I took the gig.

After I arrived, I was ushered into what I thought was the green room. But instead of being wired with a microphone or taken to a stage, I just sat there at a plain round table as my audience was brought to me: five super-wealthy guys — yes, all men — from the upper echelon of the hedge fund world. After a bit of small talk, I realized they had no interest in the information I had prepared about the future of technology. They had come with questions of their own.

They started out innocuously enough. Ethereum or bitcoin? Is quantum computing a real thing? Slowly but surely, however, they edged into their real topics of concern.
