the fact that people on this website do not understand that old people should be a protected class really boggles the mind like i know most of you think of old people as like your 60 year old grandparents cause you’re young but we really have to care for these members of our society that are particularly vulnerable 

okay but why should i care about old people who want me dead? why should i care about evil people just cause they are old? that’s not being nice that just plain stupid

if you have personal issues with some old person that sucks but the elderly are not inherently “evil people” and as a collective whole they face undeniable discrimination in institutions as essential as healthcare and housing and it’s a common problem in many retirement centers that patients are abused physically, medically, and sexually due to their physical and social vulnerability. old people are not predisposed to being bigots. marginalized people grow up to become the elderly and they’re further hurt by ageist policies. what the fuck is your problem
