Broke my heart. Shattered into a million pieces. For the first time, I had a good cry. If I could ever bring myself to rewatch it again, I’d watch it to their last kiss and stop. It filled my heart that they brought Sion back to life, only to rip it apart with that ending.

But in a way, it was understandable. They both got what they wanted in the end, except each other. They both knew that they would see each other again. Kinda like meeting someone at the wrong time. But it hurts. It. Still. Hurts. So. Damn. Much.

The Haikyuu Fandom: *acts like someone just died, posting goodbyes everywhere, crying, etc*

I know that this isn’t some drawing or masterpiece that I could give, since I suck at drawing. And I know that not many people would care as to what I would like to say, but I do know that there are thousands and thousands of fans that are feeling the same thing that I’m feeling. So instead I decided for a tribute post :)

Thank you for the last eight years of making this wonderful manga. It would be a lie to say that I have been here from the start, but I came along the way. This was the first anime that got me hooked on sports-themed. It made me want to actually step outside and work my ass off as much as these characters have. Although I do not play volleyball, it made me want to become a better swimmer and to work towards my goal. Swimming is pretty new to me since all I ever did was for fun and in the summertime, but now I wanna give competitivly a try. I am by far the worst when it comes to self motivating and at times it has been rough, (giving up practice because I feel down on myself) but this anime has helped me power through. I know it’s cliche and cheesy, but this anime has really been my support when no one else had.

Every moment in haikyuu, whether it was a match or an interaction, had me hooked. There were times when I rooted for both sides. I know how the players feel, how I also felt in situations similar. It really showed the raw and powerful feeling of wanting to win. Haikyuu captures the true feeling of winning and losing, friendships, past mistakes and new chances. They also show that life is not always giving. Every chance a player is given does not necessarily mean they will automatically win. It also applies to life. Life is never truely fair and at times be really unforgiving. However, it is these moments that show the real nature of a person. It makes it real and allows us as viewers to relate.

As today was the last chapter, the last scene felt the realest to me in the last moment. It was left on a cliffhanger, but not a cliffhanger. In a way I’m glad it ended the way it did. Not only does it leaves the rest of it up to our imagination, it also shows us that the real meaning was that it was never about winning or losing. This was a powerful message that struck out to me, because as seen, sports are always competing to win and to be the very best. This is also a fault at times, because even as players, we forget to have fun. We are so caught up in the ways of the system that we forget why we even played in the first place.

As I finish up, I would like to say thank you. Thank you for blessing me with this wonderful story. Thank you for being the reason to hype me up everyday to be a better person. These characters will forever hold a place in my heart. Even as the manga is completed, I will wait eagerly for the anime to continue it time until the finale. Thank you with all my heart.

THERE IS NO WAY IN HELL DID NOZAKI NOT HEAR WHAT SAKURA SAID. I believe that he did know what she said, but didn’t want to embarrass her in any way. I just came up with an ending where he was saving his moment for another time and it would’ve seen as being rushed if he confessed DESPITE BEING DENSE THAT WHOLE 11 EPISODES BEFORE.
