Having a crisis over art

Dawn of the clans brothers before it all went bad~

even though i've got 21 books of the main series to go with my reread of the series (i say reread although series 8 and 9 i've never read) i've decided to randomly start dotc, despite personally counting it out of this weird marathon of warior books i've pushed onto myself to pass time at work

and boi oh boi i forgot how fun it was

so in the midst of after artfight depresion i started to doodle out the designs for the two boys that started it all and .. it was harder than i thought xdd

unconsistent appearances of cats from diffrent iterations aside, i genuinely struggle drawing "handsome" cats, whom clear sky is canonically, like how?? i can make them cute allright but handsome? yeah nope thats too hard xd

also their build diffrence, clear sky is described as a big and strong cat, that has great balance and strong legs for big jumps while grey wing isn't necessarily called slim, but he is the fastest cat of the group and wind runner literally calls him "small enough" to fit in rabbit burrows, i struggled with emphasizing their diffrent physics while still keeping them similar enough to be siblings and be capable of their feats

i will still probably play with designing them to actually fit my inner depiction of them that i can picture only while immersed into the story, but i simply wanted to draw them

also here's the rest of grey wing xdd i drew them both separately and just put them together to look somewhat nice

and the last attack of this season i'm afraid as i don't think i will be able to draw anymore

Haven't posted or drawn anything the entire month so now i'm speedrunning the revenges and attacks for artfight since i've FINALY got some free time

I was going to start working on artfight but unfortunately i've had to say goodbye to my precious baby bunbun and am curently grieving heavily

We spent 14 long years together, but sickness and old age had taken him from me

And as much as i'd like to properly honor his life in any way possible I've been unable to even look at vegetables without crying and drawing isn't much easier

My heart goes out to all fluffs, feather puffs and scale noodles that departed from us and i hope we meet again one day

that sad moment when artfight started but you've been stuck at work for the entire week and before that you've been procrastinating working on your profile so now you sit on breaks frustrated over the messy layout and unfinished character sheets and profiles that you came up with at the last possible minute xd

Sassie little Mousefur

I wanted to do a few drawings in that stylized style i did the prevous designs in, but of cats from my personal or my favourite queer headcanons for warriors characters and finishing that "mini series" with our one and only canon pair, Barley and Ravenpaw, buuuut~~ i couldn't manage to pull of what i did with leafpool (god i love how she came out) since i'm in a kind off slump due to the pressure of Artfight aproaching

yes i will be participating, i love this game/competision(??), but i've got ref sheets to do and i'm procrastinating which always reflects on my creativity and this semi-realistic style is my comfort so until i get my dung together this will be the default artstyle (˶˃𐃷˂˶)

she truly lived her life to the fullest, always loyal to her clan and always petty about the littlest things and honestly? as she should xd

her only wrong doing in life was the tree incident, but i believe her despair from loosing a friend was enough to pay for her missdoings

i also picture her and her brother Runningwind to be unusually youthfull looking despite their age which is why in the first series she's a young warrior and not a senior one

it's all because it was told from firestar's perspective and he didn't know how old she was only how she looked around longtail's age

I've got Sol problems

this week at work i've been finishing my omen of the stars reread and of course Sol came back and I got a painful reminder of why I really don't like him as a antagonist

it's really hard to think of him as a threat when all his villainy depends on the clan cats lack of ability to ask questions without giving him detailed answers to them

I was cackling when back in the power of three jayfeather was questioning him about the prophecy, but at least then it was a group of teenagers who didn't know any better and were desperate

Expresion exercise based of the graphic novel

boi are the expresions in the new graphic novel great xdd they cracked me up so many times, especially squilf and tawny

this one where all of them just look at crowpaw for being crowpaw is just great, i love how even feathertail is judging him

OOH THAT SOUNDS FUN!

I've gotta admit i completly forgot of her existence which is a shame because she's such a fun character (i love old cranky ladies xd)

i remember giving her the voice of the old lady that beats Alex in the Madagascar movies while reading, idk why, thats why i gave her that head scarf, although at first i wanted to somehow incorporate that into her check fur, but i just could't make it work

i rarely draw older characters and the few oc's i've got that are elders were a litteral nightmare for me to make them look their age

Two very dead fellas, Redtail and Runningwind

was going to draw something else and ended up working on Redtail and since i adore the headcanon of trans Redtail and his ship with Runningwind as well as them being Sanstorms parents ~~ i just kinda drew them both xd

i wanted their colors to make sense (not biologically) for sanstorms cream pelt but they just didn't look right, like at all, so i ended up using a darker cream for runningwind and gave redtail squirrelflights red

and honestly now i'm thinking of perhaps doing the genetically acurate designs as they are always so fun to see buuuuut as much as i understand cat genetics ~ i don't actually understand them enough to use them in any way

but we shall see

Fire and Sand

i reworked a little the designs i've doodled earlier and am much happier, specifically with Firestar, i always strugle with imagining him

he's alway either too orange or too tabby or to round xdd

Serpent's cozy bed of sand

the moment that trully hooked me into witch hat and cemented my adoration for the artstyle was that very first panel that shows the dragon of the illusionary labirinth that girls get trapped in

i LOVE dragons and the tiniest mention of them in any media gets me intrested, but this specific fella is so darn cute and menancing and magical and argh i just love its design so much ₍₍⚞(˶>ᗜ<˶)⚟⁾⁾

i've also just learned how to record timelapses in krita (my beloved ♡) and since my art tends to be as consistent stylistically and thematically as um.. .. well it's never consistent xd so i've decided to leave a little timelapse to somewhat reasure, mostly myself that im no scammer im just weird like that

and no i didn't forget his second pair of wings i just didn't plan ahead and ended up in a weird pose so they just sunk into the sandy cloud

Sister designs~~

recently i've been plagued with the question of how do i actually imagine all of the warrior cats characters, because i've never actually pictured them as real life cats but only in the many diffrent artstyles of the fandom

as in they were always stylized in my head

but like .. im somewhat of an artist, i draw... how do i actually imagine them personally? so i dabbled a little in designing them a little, at least our flameboi's direct family and um... those specific aspects of their designs really do stay consistent no matter what huh xd

anyway here's Leafpool and Squirrelflight design sketch(?), i sketched and colored on the same layer to test what works and what doesn't, but they came out so cute i didn't wanna risk ruining it

Decided to try out Vgens challenge cause why not
