Wanted to watch this film just because of Nino but it was a surprisingly good experience.
The thing that I appreciate the most about this film is its "show don't tell" storytelling style. In the period where we have so many blockbusters with basically the same plot and the same editing. This film stands out. It has been a long time since I can feel that the film makers do not think that their audience is stupid and I'm not forced to have tons of deus ex machina and conveniently explanatory dialogues shoved down my throat.
30 minutes into the movie and I had to ask how to film would progress without boring the audience the fuck out. But boy, I was in for a surprise. Without spoiling anything, I just have to say that I have to ask out loud "What!?" for more than 4 times throughout the film, which is definitely a good sign.
The acting wad superb too. Nino really did pull off the character of an exhausted, disillusioned adult going through the the grinds of work and life and that subtle anxiety of mid-life crisis. Other actors and actresses also pulled off their respective roles. Not a single weak link in this film.
(SPOILER ALERT BELOW)
