do me a favor and reblog this and put in the tags what time it is for you and what you're currently doing/thinking about
this is so late renaissance early mannerism. the controversial male nudity? the lighting and value on the figure of emphasis?? him bathed in light and placed ABOVE while the police are clad in dark and BELOW?? Uh HES HITTING THE CONTRAPPOSTO??
On one hand: this imagery touches on themes of freedom vs oppression and how in shedding the various layers of shame placed upon us by the regime we can transcend to a higher place above the forces that seek to hold us to unjust societal standards.
On the other hand: cheeks out at the Krispy Kreme.
I feel like I am taking crazy pills

i dont want a childproofed internet i am almost 30 fucking years old. give your kid an internet safety talk and stop making it the problem of every adult on the planet every time some cryptkeeper legislator gets the brilliant idea (via conservative lobbying) to push through yet another bill gutting our access to free expression + increasing the powers of the surveillance state + lining the pockets of Big Data in the name of Protecting The Kids they wont even feed. this shit is exhausting i can’t believe we’re going to be fighting about it for the rest of my life
What would be more useful for virtually everyone is regulation of the tech companies. Because most of what's legitimately harmful about today's internets is absolutely not good for adults either.
For public health--for everyone--the content is not what needs to be regulated; it's the way the content is provided. Social media companies should be discouraged from deliberately making their products addictive. AI companies should be held accountable for AI psychosis. Cigarettes are regulated because they kill people. Online media outlets thst pump vaccine disinformation into the stream during a pandemic should be fined. Media outlets that just make shit up and pretend they're reporting it should be held to the same standards as print journalism and face the same consequences for a deliberately misleading people. Companies like Meta that make decisions knowing they will harm their users in order to increase their profits should be fined or sued for it.
None of this can be achieved through age verification. It's just another example of how our legislators will consider absolutely any absurdity rather than attempt to regulate capitalism.
This was a cold open to a youtube video and I am crying LOL

i know folks are gonna call me a pedo for this one, but i grew up seeing my mom and grandma naked. they had health issues and at times needed care and help showering. and i truly think more kids need to be shown the nonsexual reality of naked women at a young age. there is nothing sexual about my grandmothers breasts, they were simply body parts. more women die of heart attacks because people are too afraid of breasts to do real chest compressions, because they are scared to touch their breasts. the sexualization of our bodies literally kills us. i need people to be more normal about naked bodies and i'm 100% serious.

The Garment by Robert Cole
do you have any advice?
eat a protein heavy breakfast. don’t shop on shein. it’s never too late to get more educated. tell people you love them. listen to birds. go to an old growth forest. get really good at something, just to see if you can.
im afraid i will start to quote this randomly outloud
i genuinely don't think there's much, if anything, hotter than someone clearly having a blast doing something they're really good at. doesn't really matter what it is. the combo of competence and joy is absolutely lethal to me

People universally seem to parse it as Mean but sometimes what you really, really need to hear is "this is not a socially appropriate thing to say, and you should not have said it"
i do think what gets ignored about carrie as a character is that she’s an incredibly easy target to bully; she’s a chubby, sheltered acne ridden teenage girl who wears frumpy grandma clothes and regurgitates the jesus freak shit her violently abusive mother tells her. she has violent thoughts about her classmates and is uncomfortable to be around. she’s far more interesting being a victim that’s somewhat uncomfortable to be in the head of than a tragic waif. she’s not a martyr, she’s a child and a child who’s been victimised her whole life shouldn’t have to be kind and angelic to be recognised as a victim. suffering teenage girls shouldn’t just be presented on screen as toned down glamorous thin ophelias, suffering teenage girls can be fat and poor and think violently. i do think we need to examine why culturally we need teenage girls to be beautiful and kind to valorise their suffering and treat it as bad
