I need to get this off my chest. People who assign sexualities to characters whose preferences are intentionally kept ambiguous irk me

This is especially common in dating sim/romance oriented media where the characters’ sexualities are intentionally unlabelled so that the storyline between the player and character works, no matter who you are!!

This also comes from my experience as an unlabelled/queer person and other LGBTQIA+ folks trying to help me ‘figure myself out.’

Yes, labels are immensely helpful for finding community. Yes, not every character or every person needs one. These things can be true at the same time!
