We are The Nebula Basket Party (collective/system). We collectively use they/them. We are a dreamway collective. Bodily and on average we are in our mid 20's. Most of us are nonbinary and aroace. Several of us are nonhuman, alterhuman, alterbeing, and such. There's 19 of us total, but some will likely be more active than others.
We're not exactly sure what exactly we plan to do here, but we plan to post on occasion. We plan to use this as a space to be openly ourselves, both as a party and as individuals.
Cyannide Lolypop ๐ญ (vey/ven/vims + neos/they) is the host and will likely be active most often.
Anonymous Cryptid ๐ฅ (they/he/x/ze/she) is the party spokesperson apparently and will, in most cases, speak as a representative for the entire party (that's me).

Switching is the process of changing who controls your system's body, mind, or other central resources. A switch can be voluntary or involuntary, and controlling and managing switching is a learnable skill.
Switching isn't a universal plural experience, but when systems do switch, they might experience it in a variety of different ways. It doesn't always feel like "changing places"!
This chart can't cover all possible experiences of switching, but it does talk about some of the more common switching experiences that we've had.

Some (but not all!) systems experience switching. Switching is when the system member in control of your body changes.
There are a lot of different ways that switching can be experienced. It doesn't always feel like "changing places"!
Many nicknamed examples of switching experiences are given:
The light switch, which is the stereotypical idea of switching. One person is immediately and cleanly replaced by another.
The becoming, which is more of a gradient or slider than changing places. One person slowly shifts until they become someone else.
The "two hours later"- sometimes switching can take a long time.
The "when did that happen? Apparently we switched?", where someone has been in control for an extended period of time but only realizes much later.
The possession ("mine now!"), where one system member shoves another out of control to take it for themselves.
The trigger, where a trauma trigger causes one system member to freak out. This prompts someone less affected by that trigger to switch in to handle it.
The vacuum filler, where one person ditches front and someone else is pulled forward to take their place.
"Pikachu, I choose you!", where one system member pulls someone else into control.
The revolving door ("Hello! Goodbye! Hello!"), where system members rapidly trade control of your body in quick succession. If you experience amnesia between system members, then this can be pretty disorienting.
The ensoupening- sometimes, you switch and it's not really clear who you are anymore.
The "what the fuck? What were you even doing???" where you suddenly find yourself in a very unexpected, disorienting, or bizarre situation that you weren't entirely aware was happening a few seconds ago- for example, finding yourself sitting at a desk while your headphones play incredibly chaotic music that you wouldn't pick personally.

It is impossible for Us to properly and fully discuss Our experiences being queer without also discussing Our experiences being members of a system. They intersect far too much for us to be able to pry them apart.
Things like in-sys relationships, not fitting neatly into being cis or trans due to mismatch of assigned genders, working around existing in a body with other people with different orientations and genders, certain system members suppressing others for their queer identity, non-human system members having completely different experiences with gender and attraction than is typical of humans, introjects coming from different cultures that don't exist on this earth who have completely different structures around gender and relationships, and so on and so forth.
Yes, this also overlaps with alterhuman, nonhuman, xenogender, alterous, neoidenteties, etc., etc.. And We're sure other systems/plurals/multiples/collectives feel similarly that they can't discuss their queer experiences without also discussing how it intersects with their plurality/multiplicity/systemhood.
So, until the broader LGBTQIA+ community is accepting of these things, it will not truly be inclusive, and We will not truly feel welcomed within it. We should not be too scared to discuss our own experiences in queer spaces out of fear of being lambasted and scrutinized for openly discussing plural and related experiences.
And that's not even discussing how these things can impact external relationships and dating, ability to transition, how people act like final fusion will make you magically not queer, how systems/plurals are gatekept and fake claimed for having too many queer members/alters/parts/headmates, being constantly misgendered because people don't see you as individuals, etc..
Just tired of feeling like We need to censor Ourselves in queer spaces.
