He watches porn without headphones, loudly, at odd hours in the day because he's unemployed, and speaking of which you'll also hear him get chewed out by his scary brother about how he doesn't have a job

Said brother sometimes comes over to check on him. Nie Huaisaing'll be like please don't tell him im here!! and you'll be like aaaaaa?? and his brother will be like is he here?? and you'll be like aaaaaah,no?

He also has birds, free roaming birds that leave food and feathers and poop on the carpet, and also imitate the porn noises because again, no headphones.

You will also hear him giving terrible awful advice to his friends over the phone.

Wen Ning:

For the first few months of living with him you're not even sure you have a roommate because you never see him come out of his room.

You'll come home, the house is quiet, there is exactly one (1) plate and one (1) cup sitting on the drying rack, everything else seems to be untouched. You're like is this guy fucking scared of me?? 😭

you need to lure him out by making cookies and being like heyy I made cookies, you can grab some if you'd like, and then he'll come out.

He'll also rescue a bunch of kittens that were abandoned on the street, which means you now have a bunch of kittens to take care of!

Wen Qing:

very nice, very overworked. You also barely see her but it's because she works odd hours. She's a surgeon, so she barely lives there.

She also refuses your help so you have to make it seem like she's helping you for her to accept it.

You'll be like I made a bunch of food I can't finish it all, will you have some? I bought too many coconut waters again, can you maybe take them off my hands? and she'll "help" you.

Jiang Yanli:

One of the best roommates you could have. She actually thrives in cooking for you and making sure you are doing well. You'll often come home and the house will be spotless.

Only downside is her brothers sometimes come to visit and they're both kind of scary.

They think you're taking advantage of their sister because she cooks for you, but one time you tried cooking and she seemed kind of sad, and also she might have been too polite to say it but you're not sure she liked the food you made.

Jin Zixuan:

This is a weird situation you ended up with. Turns out he got kicked out of the house because he ended his engagement, and he is not coming back until he apologizes.

Tragically during the time that you two live together you worry that this guy is not suited for adult life. He cannot cook, clean or do much for himself. Talking with him you learn that he's always had servants that did things for him, so you'll have to teach him how to use the washing machine, which he gets upset about and asks you to do the laundry yourself, this happens with everything in the house. You'll need to put your foot down a lot with this dude.

His mother calls him constantly to yell at him which makes you go ah. i see how you ended up like this,

Lan Xichen:

he is also hopeless, but at least he tries. Sure, he turned all your white clothes pink, but he looked really sad afterwards and apologized a lot. You end up being like it's fine, no, don't worry about it, I like pink! They look kind of nice this way! and consoling him when he messes up because he gets really sad you feel really bad

He is also a bit of a walking hazard in general, not just to your clothes. He tried mixing vinegar and bleach once. He put the cutting board in the oven, he put a fork in the microwave.

Barring household chores he is really smart though. He has a ton of books that he lets you read and if you like music you'll have someone to talk to about it with him!

Jin Guangyao:

One of the best roommates you can have. He is really kind and friendly, he remembers your birthday and random things you've said and he often will do things For you which is really nice of him.

The only downside is that there's... something odd about him. He doesn't talk about himself. He gets constant calls from contact name "Father" at very odd hours, and he always excuses himself and answers somewhere you can't hear. If you try to talk to him about it he changes the subject.

Sometimes he comes home and there's nothing outwardly wrong but the vibes feel off. You ask him if everything's okay and he's like yeah! why? (: want dinner btw? I was just about to make a batch of cookies.

One day he tells you he'll be gone for a few days because his father died, there's no emotion in his voice. and you're like OhI'm? sorry? and he's like aww, you're too kind (:

Nie Mingjue:

You'll get to see the other side of this strange dynamic he has with his brother. You'll hear him constantly yelling into the phone: "How's the job search going? Huaisang? Huaisang, I know you're not going through a tunnel right now, I can hear your birds. You're not taking them to the vet, I know you took them last week! Because I got the invoice!"

but like. to You he's respectful. He doesn't do anything For you (he believes it is important to do everything yourself). He will comment on things you do, though. He'll peek into your room and later he'll be like i noticed you haven't cleaned your room... He asks about your job search and comments on how you're not trying hard enough and you're like ah. I see why your brother is scared of you

He also keeps a lot of meat in the fridge. like. A Lot of just raw, juices-leaking-out meat. Good luck if youre vegan/vegetarian because you will not hear the end of it. If you ever mention you're tired he'll be like it's bc you're vegan,

Lan Qiren:

Um. I dont know how you ended up in this situation but it's not good. He probably is renting out a room in his house and you happened to be the poor fool who saw "can follow rules" in the ad and thought "seems easy enough",

but no. There's 500 rules in the house, like 100 per section. you have a delineated Area in the fridge and the pantry, you are allowed two condiments and one spreadable, you cannot buy more until you finish the previous one. No food must be wasted. No snacks after midnight. No noise after 9pm. If there are leftovers in the fridge, you must finish them by the next day. If they stay in the fridge for more than three days he will throw them out and you will be disallowed from storing more leftovers in the fridge. You will also have to take on more chores in the house to atone.

Xiao Xingchen:

He is. so. nice. Too nice actually. It is kind of a problem. You need to lock your room and all your stuff inside it because he keeps forgetting to lock the door of the apartment.

Also. He will open up the house to people that he finds on the street, so you'll sometimes come home to the shower/bathroom being used by a stranger, and Xiao Xingchen is like hope you don't mind, my friend here needs a place to stay...

Things regularly get stolen from the house and need to be replaced.

Song Lan:

He is nice too without the constant bringing random people into the house.

He is rarely home, as he volunteers at a homeless shelter after work.

Ok i lied he Has brought people into the house, once or twice, and it's a harrowing once or twice.

The first time is a guy who is no longer allowed at the homeless shelter. He has a stab wound on his side and is bleeding on your couch. The second one is a severely traumatized girl that he doesn't allow you to speak to or be alone in the room with. Neither is a pleasant experience.

Xue Yang:

Oh god no. You need to get out of here as soon as possible. This guy is in some deep shit and he might drag you into it if you're not careful.

Sometimes scary looking people come looking for him at the apartment. Sometimes he comes home bloody and badly beaten. If you suggest calling an ambulance he pulls a knife on you and tells you to drop the phone.

He keeps dead rats in the fridge for an unknown purpose. You think (hope) that maybe he has a pet snake but he does not allow you to go into his room so you're never actually sure.

One day you come home and the place is trashed and you never see Xue Yang again.

Mo Xuanyu:

Oh he is also in some deep shit but you just kind of feel really bad for him.

You get the sense that he doesn't really want to be involved in whatever he's involved in but it seems he can't get out. It might have something to do with his family which sounds like they really suck.

You also feel he needs to be medicated, for more than one thing, probably. You will try to help him as much as possible but as his roommate you dont know how much you can actually do.
