crying literal tears of blood whenever i see someone say “you’re talking about palestine for *woke* points” or any other iteration of the clout chaser vs “let me imply i’m actually donating money bc this is the only form of solidarity i know and is therefore the only valid one” trope as if literal palestinian activists like mariam barghouti, the el-kurd siblings, fayrouz sharqawi and countless others have told you six billion times over the last week that they don’t need your motherfucking charity, they need you to educate yourself and speak up. charity isn’t solidarity, taking accountability for your actions and amplifying palestinian voices is. when we have people publishing pictures of their dead relatives and neighbours in an attempt to humanise them and urging you to spread these images because they can’t even be afforded that last dignity, your pontification about “not using your platform bc u aren’t one to exploit the palestinian struggle for clout” reeks of complificity. if your platform is two people then that’s two people you can perhaps convince of the inherent humanity of palestinians and the inherent evil of apartheid and genocide. if your platform is your dinner table and your grandmother needs to be de-brainwashed then that’s useful too. there is a duty of memory and of vocal support to the dispossessed to do here because their issue isn’t that they’re voiceless, it is that they are SILENCED. how many times do they have to beg you to just spread their words for make it click through your heads?
