Saint of inventors, technicians, and artificers. The saint you pray to for a flash of something extraordinary, something that will change the world. That your invention will work and not kill you in the process. And eventually, as you see your creations put to use outside your control: the saint you pray to that no one takes this thing you’ve put so much into and turns it into a tool for something terrible.

The Porcelain Saint - began a long time ago as a grief memorial, but the actual name of the dead woman is lost; it’s known by the small porcelain cameo of a young woman presumably left there by those who originally mourned her. Has become generally associated with cleanness - the stains will come out, the contagion won’t spread, the wound won’t go bad, the air will be sweet.

In tribute of the lovingly haunted album Myth by @narcissistcookbook I wanted to create a postcard that refuses to be lost.

It was just intended to be for me but at friends encouragment I gave it to Matt and the response made my weird heart so happy that it is appreciated and won't just spend it's life in my desk drawer.

Some pre-weathering photos too to show off detail that isn't present in the final copy. Wasn't sure if I was going to be strong enough to start wrecking it after making it look perfect but the weathering was my favourite part of the process.

The Kid, patron saint of the exploited, abused, unheard, who's honored in a city in my D&D campaign. She acts for those buried in shallow graves, and those the monsters thought so unimportant that they didn't even bother.

The Kid straddles the line between reckoning and revenge, since that's as close as Bassuras' powerless ever get to justice.

For the concept and design, my GM was inspired by by Nalo Hopkinson's novel Midnight Robber and Diane Dillon's cover art for it!

Soooooo, I've fallen down the rabbit hole and now I made a stained glass window representing the fictional saint of journalists and dangerous truths who's honored in one of the cities in my D&D campaign.

@luvianblue is my favorite person today and asked to see the script/alphabet I made for this one (and more! But uh, I have to get those into a shareable state, so they'll take me a minute).

This script is based off of one I made two years ago as sort of a loosely descended from idea (as someone who's not studied how that happens specifically and is just leaning on my graphic design and puzzle background). For those looking to translate along at home, it's one-to-one with english! Here's the guide with the numbering system:

And here are the two newspaper sheets that are used in the Muckraker piece above! Headlines, ads, and anything larger than those is translatable while the body copy for the stories is not.

Very proud of the fact that I not only made use of two different styles of type for th edifferent newspapers, but I also made use of a condensed version of the alphabet for a number of the headlines.

but this lady asked me if snacks would be provided and if so what kind because her son was a picky eater & this poor boy is just bright red and yelling from the back seat that he packed his own lunch and snacks & mom (who is very aware she’s on speaker phone) goes ‘sorry for loving you and worrying about you, you little shit’ which made him just screech the word ‘mom’ like he was a tween in full angst mode
