The end?

Hey guys! I have been pretty inactive on this blog - and for the first time, it’s not because I don’t have stuff that I want to post, as I post elsewhere, but because of tumblr itself.

I feel like this website has become really not welcoming for artists and I have been far more active on my instagram, which has been more rewarding. Here it feels like either you make a hit post, or nobody sees your art. I don’t like this wheel of fortune kind of approach and I’m tired of tumblr’s wacky tag and search system.

I think it’s pretty telling that people who see the anatomy drawings in my notebooks think I am a medical student. If you think about it, medical students wouldn’t really benefit from such studies because it is artistic anatomy and therefore lacks some important informations (the nerve endings for example), but nobody thinks about art right away, only about science. I talked about it with a lady today, and she looked surprised that I needed such level of anatomy knowledge as an art student. It’s funny on the spot, but I think it shows that a lot of people don’t realize how much skill you have to gather to be able to do solid artwork. Which is a problem when you have to be paid and respected as an artist…
