2- has writing a fic ever changed your opinion on a character?
Yes! At the very least, it's changed how I view a lot of the more minor PH characters. I've had to flesh out so many characters- figure out motivations and such.
I used to be a lot more unkind to Ciela- but plotting out some other scenes that focus on her, has definitely helped with understanding her more.
Typhoon helped me actually see Bellum as a character, rather than a voiceless, humorless, embodiment of chaos.
And I've got things coming in DMTNT and some other fics to help flesh out Astrid and the Old Wayfarer- which used to be such....nothing characters to me. I never really stopped and talked to them during the main game, because I didn't need to. But with trying to figure out how they fit into this world- it's helped me flesh them out and appreciate them a bit more in a broader story.
6- When do you title your fics?
Sometimes a title will come to me as early as the planning phase- but most of the time it hits me in the middle of writing (or when I'm in a spot where I can't write the title down, like when I'm driving or working).
It...kinda helps to just run into a phrase I really like, or get caught on some wording I think I can twist. TBaBS chapter titles fall into that category.
A disappointing amount of my fic titles are song names or references to other media.
Typhoon is a song title- but not the same song that's in the fic....it just uses the same sample at the start (sped up), and is made by the same artist (it's also cooler than the title No.3 imo). But I only learned about the song "Typhoon" about...2 months before publishing that fic- and I knew about No.3 long before that.
14- is there a word or phrase you intentionally use in every fic?
Not particularly....yet. I do have some dialogue planned out that I just....i think it fits the characters so well- and I want to insert it into every fic, but I haven't gotten to a part I can use it just yet.
I'm still away from a laptop- but I know one of them is Link calling himself amphibious- and Neri corrects him. And another one where Linebeck tells Link "you're trying to throw your weight around, but forget you don't weigh much."
28- you're out and about, nowhere near home, when a fantastic story idea pops into your head! What do you do?
Text myself. I have an embarrassing amount of text messages sent to myself that I have to go through.
Probably have another 10 aus sitting in there that I need to weed through.
