If there's a theremin-shaped hole in your day, let Clara Rockmore fill it.
Not to infodump a little, but it's really interesting how the preferred instrument of a more than small portion of ambient/dark ambient creators is a theremin.
I think that's so cool. and with modern theremins you can really make them sound however you want. They can be a dark pad or a drone and you hold your hands wherever to make new unique sounds.
In fact! There's a really good Dark Ambient set done by Sphäre Sechs where both of them played a duet together from different cities. And one of them was using a theremin! Which, honestly, is what really got me into that sort of thing.
I've never actually used one myself. There are a lot of weird instruments that dark ambient musicians use (myself included, I've used some weird shit as an instrument in my field recordings). But it's just something I think is really cool and interesting :)

The theremin was the product of Soviet government-sponsored research into proximity sensors. The instrument was invented in October 1920 by the Russian physicist Lev Sergeyevich Termen, known in the West as Leon Theremin. After a lengthy tour of Europe, during which time he demonstrated his invention to packed houses, Theremin moved to the United States, where he patented his invention in 1928.
brutal that I technically have enough money on my konto to buy a theremin, but am not allowed to on accord of food and apartment. really rude. I don't know how much longer I can be financially responsible here
Can you draw static miku playing the theremin i think she might like it,,, first eletronic instrument ever that was revolutionary but is now forgotten,,,,
idk if I drew it right but we ball
