Blinds and shutters have a long standing tradition in filming. They are often used as foreshadowing and symbolism for being locked up or trapped. Sometimes it also represents a secret that a character keeps hidden.

i need to apologize to everybody who is expecting some sort of deep and meaningful headcanon here, because this is... not that deep. i do feel very strongly about it, which makes reading fic for this pairing difficult if not impossible, but i acknowledge that having such a very strong opinion about it is A Bit Silly.

my opinion is this: i don't think post-canon vegas and pete are into pet play

my reasons aren't even that deep. i just think that it would remind them both, in a very bad way, of some of the worst moments of their recent lives, what with it being linked directly to a) torture, and b) attempted suicide. i don't think either of them intensely craves getting off on anything that's dehumanizing or based in an extreme power differential or, you know, reminding them of almost dying. the sex that blew both of their minds and rewired their brains and altered their worldviews was the exact opposite of that, and the reassurances they gave each other in the epilogue were also the exact opposite of that. so.

(also, related but somewhat separate: i do think vegas is a sadist, and pete clearly likes bondage, but those are not actually the same thing as being strictly dominant or submissive, for all that fandom stubbornly assigns all flavors of kink to that one spectrum.)

also i think this is one of those cases where pete might be down for it cuz i think he's a kinky fucker who will try anything (in bed! absolutely not out of it! as his whole character arc is about realizing and admitting he hates being a non-person in life), but vegas would get thirty seconds in and immediately have a complete spiraling breakdown remembering pete holding a knife to his own neck and crying about never feeling like a person, and that would not make for a sexy time. it would be a bad time. ugly crying. anger. panic. lashing out. lesson learned. they wouldn't do it again.

THE THEERAPANYAKUL BROTHERS 🐄

ok this is so rushed but i had this thought and i wanted to share it:

you may be thinking to yourself, wouldn’t it make more sense for Kinn, Kim, and Tankhun to be called the Theerapanyakul brothers ? they’re the three sons of the main family (ranch?) after all

and my answer to that is no.

i believe these two should be deemed the Theerapanyakul brothers because they act like brothers.

Kinn, Kim, and Tankhun are disjointed, their actions reflect what they want for themselves and they’re not even with each other most of the time.

here i imagine things similar to canon- Kinn is the next in line to inherent the ranch system, Kim no longer works on the land at all and lives in the city but still lingers around the rodeo to get a feel for what is going on at the ranch, and Khun lives on the property but for some reason was deemed unfit to handle the system

Vegas and Macau however (at least for the sake of this au) work in tandem, and Vegas holds Macau’s interest in mind as he makes decisions.

(can’t let father destroy Macau the way he has destroyed me etc etc)

Thus i believe that Kinn Kim and Khun would be better off titled The Theerapanyakul Sons.

aaa!!! this has been cooking in my brain for a while, i feel like the mafia plot could transfer over in some ways to western cattle rancher type drama

a system of cattle ranches for the major and minor family

instead of bodyguards it’s ranch hands that have been taken in by the heads of the house and live on the property to tend to the ranches (brings in the devotion to the family that way)

from there you can add the power struggle conflict and all that with the smaller ranch wanting to have control of the system

the one that wants to help people search and filter better by demonstrating how I just realized that the way I was searching was stopping me from finding what I wanted

and the one that does not want to air out my particular interests on a platform of any size 😆

So I was searching for "Jane Foster size queen" at first. But then I realized that putting both the character and the descriptor in the same tag wouldn't work.

In order for that to exist as a single tag, it would need to be a popular enough idea in the MCU fandom for at least three different authors to have used it. And with a fandom the size of the MCU, it's probably closer to 5 or 10.

So then I tried using the search form to find the character Jane Foster along with the additional tag size queen. But that returned zero results, and I realized that size queen isn't a canonical tag, so I was asking AO3 to find Jane Foster fics with the tag "size queen" instead of the concept.

So then I went to the tag search and looked up size queen and checked off the wrangling status as "canonical or synonymous" and that gave me 627 synonyms for the concept I was looking for and the first four results included a character name, but the fifth one was just "also he's a size queen" so I clicked on that and I found out that the canonical tag I could use to find fics with that concept was size kink

so I went back to the search form and looked up character Jane Foster and additional tag size kink and I got 39 results.
