ICONIC
I was gonna put this in my queue but tbh I think itâs more relevant right now.
âHeâs the most irritating, sugar rush filled child in a manâs body. I couldnât stand him. Worst part? He decided I was interesting enough to follow around, no matter how hard I tried to get rid of him I couldnât. He followed me to work, and after a while that wasnât enough. He started following me outside of work too, bugging me all the time. After a time he let me see his other side too though. He stopped being the uh⌠the person they described in the tabloids. In moments I got to meet Alexis I saw him as a father and as a much more mature man than heâd been when I first met him at his book party. And after a few years we became friends, and I swear that if anyone had told me that when I first met him I wouldâve laughed at their joke, saying they were completelyâŚâ
âBut in reality you fell for me the first time you saw me,â Castle interrupted and their kids chuckled.
Kate narrowed her eyes at him, a small grin on her face. âYou donât even remember what you were like in the beginning. I wanted to shoot you,â she argued.
âMom, itâs not nice to shoot people,â Reece said matter-of-factly.
âYou could go to prison for it,â Jake added with a small horror displaying on his face.
âOh, sheâd never do it. Right mom,â Lily defended her and Kate laughed.
She really loved their little family. Reece and Jake were almost six now whereas Lily had turned eleven earlier this year. All of them were quite aware of their parents story but every year around the holidays they always wanted to hear a little about how the two met. To Kateâs surprise and joy none of them seemed to mind the fact that she had hated their fatherâs guts when they first met. They enjoyed hearing how their story had progressed and honestly, when Castle told the story, so did she.
âOf course not, Iâd hate to arrest myself,â Kate answered to Lilyâs question.
âYou didnât hesitate to twist my ear or nose though,â Castle said while he rubbed his fingers on his ear.
Kate laughed along with the kids and lightly punched his chest. âYou deserved it.â Castle grabbed her hand and pulled her in, putting his hand on her hip. âEvery single time,â she added and he chuckled.
âI did.â Castle leaned down and pecked her lips, leaving her wanting more.
It was weird how almost fifteen years later he could still leave her wanting him with just the simplest of touches. And to think it had been almost twenty years since they first met, officially that is.
âAnd you know, your mom was a fan of my books before I started shadowing her,â Castle continued to tell the kids and she rolled her eyes as they sat down by the bonfire theyâd made together in her fatherâs old cabin. âAfter I found that out I got her the newest book and even signed it. I also made sure to let her know just how great she was by dedicating all her books to her. I even think I shocked her with that first dedication,â he looked at her and she just smiled at the memory. Heâd called her extraordinary.
Kate snuggled into his comfy chest and listened to him telling their kids the story. She watched as her kids snuggled together in a pile of pillows and blankets. Lily holding her stuffed elephant and the twins holding their stuffed tigers. Castle had gotten the tigers as a joke between the two of them, the pregnancy had been tough and heâd continuously reminded her of the time they almost got eaten by a tiger, and the fact that the stuffed tigers had become the twinsâ most valuable toys had its own special irony to it. But it was all great. Kate loved this family of theirs, and she knew her husband loved it too. She looked up at him and met his eyes as heâd been watching her too. Their eyes exchanging the love and admiration for one another as he continued telling the story to the kids. Their story.
THE END

Just to give those who arent aussie or who dont live in Australia, an idea of just how bad this is. And it's only getting worse. This started in August. Our winter.
My country is on fire. I live in the Australian Capital Territory, or Canberra. My city is covered in smoke everyday from the fires that are all around us. Some towns are gone. Many people are stuck because the fires have surrounded them. People are dead and missing. Hundreds of homes have been destroyed. Today, it has gotten even worse. 4000 people are currently sitting on the water at the coast because the land is too dangerous. The fires are closing in everywhere. We are terrified. If this doesnt make the people in power, especially in my own country act on the climate crisis, I dont know what will. #ourhouseisonfire

The song âWeâll meet againâ by Vera Lynn is emotionally scarring.

wrathofprawn:
for those not in the know, night witches were russian lady bombers who bombed the shit out of german lines in WW2. Thing is though, they had the oldest, noisiest, crappest planes in the entire world. The engines used to conk out halfway through their missions, so they had to climb out on the wings mid flight to restart the props. the planes were also so noisy that to stop germans from hearing them combing and starting up their anti aircraft guns, theyâd climb up to a certain height, coast down to german positions, drop their bombs, restart their engines in midair, and get the fuck out of dodge.
their leader flew over 200 missions and was never captured.
how the fuck is this not taught in every single history class ever
pilots (âĄâżâĄâż)Â
girl pilots (ââżââż)
girl pilots killing nazis â§ď˝Ľďž: *â§ď˝Ľďž:* \(âăŽââż)/ *:シďžâ§*:シďžâ§
But, remember, women never did anything in history.
Iâm reblogging this again. Always reblogging. Always
And the Nazis called them âNight Witchesâ because you couldnât fucking hear them. They basically appeared out of the night as if they were flying on brooms and dropped bombs.
Hell yeah
DUDEEEEE LOVE THESE GIRLS, IM SO GLAD I FOUND THIS POST
They also have a kick-ass song dedicated to them by Sabaton called Night Witches if anyone wants to give it a good listen
sorry not sorry (credits to @arianwen44 for the artwork)
You know fucking what
How fucking dare you do this to my heart
I knew it was going to end with A Thing. I didnât know it was going to be That Thing. Now Iâm devastated.
I knew it was gonna be that thing and Iâm still devastated.
Gonna reblog this every time it pops up on my dashboard.
Not ever hero wears a cape.
who was i before i cared so much about my eyebrows???
i donât want to achieve equality by sinking to menâs level, i want them to get on ours! why should i have to unlearn the conversational art of waiting my turn, unlearn sexual self-restraint, unlearn trust in othersâ good intentions, unlearn the impulse to cater to othersâ needs, just to have a chance at success among savages? why canât the men learn some fucking manners so we can all conduct our affairs in a civilized manner? i shouldnât have to stop saying sorry, you say sorry!
In the 80s when I was in my freshman year in college, they still had entirely separate mens and womenâs dorms. I was in class waiting for a final to start and one of the guys was telling someone about how he had had to go into a womenâs dorm to drop something off, and he was startled to see posters on the walls, flowers, curtains, etc. He said his menâs dorm had holes in the walls, things on fire, fights, guys walking around with open wounds and he just didnât understand why they had to live like this. He said, âI want to live with the women, in civilization.â
Am reading Sisterhood of Spies, about women working for the OSS during WWII. One of the stories mentions that the women in London had a male visitor who would eat in their mess hall once a month. He was married and wasnât interested in hitting on any of the women; he just wanted to eat in an atmosphere where people said âPlease pass the butter,â instead of âPASS THE GODDAMNED GREASEâ
I dated a guy who brought me along on group activities (movies, video game night, etc.) with four or five other male friends. Once I mentioned to one of the other guys that I hoped I wasnât intruding on their âguy timeâ or some such. He got this sort of rueful look and said, âThe truth is, I really like it when youâre here because it gives us a reason to act better. When itâs just guys, we all have to try to outdo each other with how vile we are.â
So the moral of these stories are men donât even treat each other like human beings.
Me to my 6-year-old son:Â âYou seem to like playing with the girls at school more than the boys. Why do you think that is?â
6-year-old son:Â âSometimes I just donât want to be pushed. It hurts and is mean. And the girls always pretend to be princesses or fun animals and stuff when they have tea parties. The boys just dump the tea all over the place. Thatâs just stupid and I donât like wasting all that tea. It takes forever to make.â
Me:Â âWow, I can understand why youâd rather play with the girls. The boys seem like theyâre kind of rough.â
6-year-old son:Â âAnd when I play with the girls they make me the king because none of the other boys want to play tea party.â
Me:Â âDo you like being the king?â
6-year-old son:Â âNot really â Iâd rather be a wizard, but it makes Georgia and Vivian happy.â
