I've been watching a fair bit of the American show "Hoarders" over the past few days, starting just by chance. But it turns out I think I needed to see it, because even though I don't buy a lot of things, I haven't let go of most stuff I've ever owned, which is actually insane. And quite honestly I relate to a lot of the anxieties of these people about letting anything go, which is quite concerning because one of my grandfathers was a hoarder. Not to the extent you see on these shows but he was nonetheless, and I don't want to get like that at ALL. Being a sad spinster is probably inevitable, but I don't wanna do that surrounded by shit like the poor bastards on this show. I cling on to stuff because fucking everything makes me sentimental, and being sentimental make me feel less lonely I guess. But those feelings can get in the way of growth just as much as physical items do eventually. I'm already fucking sick of tripping over everything and not being able to access things easily as it is.
So yeah. It's been shockingly motivating so far. I've got several things going up on ebay today and tomorrow, thrown a lot of small bits of crap away and one big thing, got some charity bags on the go, and got rid of one box from the loft. I need this to keep going well, tbh. Change is very much needed in my life.
I'm so close to accepting it, anon
Touch starved… but it’s for a cool autumn breeze.

I can't take Eggman from Sonic seriously because my brain auto translates it into Finnish and then all I can think about is... Him...
you've met me at a very hudson williams time of my life
whats a stereotype for your country that you absolutely do. mine is that i unironically go "eh" and apologize a lot and i often drink maple syrup straight
Just sifting through an old art folder on facebook that I privated years ago after setting up a public page, and I was upset to see how nasty I used to be to myself about my work. I refused to even refer to it as art, calling myself "lazy" and in dire need of improvement, and the folder description was literally "just some of my failings as a person". I remember it was meant as a joke but I definitely also believed it. I was a teen when I made most of the art in this folder, and I'm seeing it again through fresh eyes at twice the age I was, and I can see some of it was actually insane quality for someone of any age let alone a kid. Most people cannot draw at all, so who the fuck was I comparing to when I slagged off those mad skills? Why the fuck was I so INSANELY hard on myself? Who and/or what the fuck could have pushed a teen girl to be so fucking hateful to herself? And literally all it ever did was hold me back. I am the walking proof that bullying yourself does not make you better. At anything.
Thankfully I'm not like that now about my art, but sadly I am still that way about myself. I've had a much harder time with that. But all this just makes me realise that if I'm lucky enough to live a long time I'll be upset that I treated myself the way that I do.
So I guess if I changed the way I thought about my art, I can change the way I think about myself too. Right? Is there actually some hope for me after all?

People on Tumblr love sharing information about themselves no matter how asinine it is. And I'm the same way. Everybody tell me what the last thing you drank was.
I feel like simply calling JK Rowling a transphobe isn't strong enough anymore. Like. This is not your grandpa calling you by your deadname at a restaurant kind of transphobic. This is her wanting to eradicate all trans people (with an extra special hatred towards trans women specifically). This is her trying just that by personally funding transphobic hate groups with millions to push around laws in the UK. It is not hyperbolic to call her a dangerous, genocidal maniac.
It's not about cancelling a problematic writer. It's about literally trying to save lives by denying her as much money and power as possible.
Can now add "bitch slapped in the face on purpose by a wild sparrowhawk" to the list of things that have happened to me in this lifetime.
Woke up to photo dump(s!) from Hudson, I'll call that a happy fucking birthday to me 🥲
