NRS medschool & hospital in Kolkata,India was assaulted by 200 mobs on Monday, they claimed the doctor killed the 87year old patient who was suffering from terminal illness, in protest to this hooliganism all the medschools & integrated hospitals had shutdown OPD, and Emergency services(except for Surgery and Ob&Gyn Depts), they wanted justice as State govt took no action against the 200mobs who came with bricks and sticks and sabotaged the hospital along with harming the doctors and medstudents. Dr.Paribaha Mukherjee had been hit on head and landed in a coma along with 2 other interns. 48hrs have past and instead of supporting us the govt is pressurizing to open the hospital gates. Midnapur Medical College , Bardhawan Medical College, Mushibad,Malda , BankuraMCH have surrounded by goons for the last 48hrs, who are throwing motolov cocktails and acid at the doctors and medstudents trapped inside the emergency building. NRS medschool’s electric supply has been cut, they’re running out of food, goons are trying to block their water supply. Calcutta National Medical College’s Linton Boys hostel at 1:30am today was caught on fire due to throwing of petrol bombs by goons. All the medical colleges of the country are supporting and protesting for them. 20000 lives inside those colleges are in dangers. Please help us. Please spread the news. Please Stand With NRS , BMC ,MMCH. The students in those hostels are being given rape threats and death threats. Situation is dire. Please please help us. We have no protection here. We are doctors not terrorists, we don’t deserve to die at our workplace. Help us.
