What even was that ending…

I’m literally still crying cause my favorite show is now over and I already miss them, and this show has seen me turn into an adult and blah blah blah…

I literally just finished Maul Shadow Lord and it was fucking phenomenal, this is actually peak Star Wars… I would argue one of the best already, like needs to be in the conversation with Empire Strikes Back, Revenge of the Sith and The Clone Wars.

What really gagged me was the Subtlety of everything…

At some point when Vader is fighting Maul,Devon and Daki he is fighting with one hand, almost like this fight is beneath him, skip to later when Vaders fighting just Daki he’s angry… Both hands on the saber just beating away, I think that’s a great way of showing how pissed off he gets through the fight.

Even Devon does the same thing, she’s really on point with her fighting stances her technique is always really precise (I used to dance so I compare in a way like, her foot is always pointed, never sickled, shoulders down, hips tucked under) and after Daki dies she looses that technique and just starts fighting with her feelings, giving into Mauls anger, it’s a gorgeous way of showing me, not telling me how she’s feeling. The audience isn’t dumb, and can understand nuance and Grey areas, I think this show really understood that.

Or when Maul pushes Daki towards Vader… like oh my god, I think this show really humanized him in a way. They showed his traumatic past with Savage and Palpatine, so you really ended up forgetting that he is actually a bad guy. him pushing Daki was a real reminder and wake up call to the audience to not forget… he is the Villain.

Another Believer by Rufus Wainwright (the Meet The Robinsons song) but make it Maul and Devon. The lyrics are perfect, here’s the opening to the song…

Holy fuck… Episodes 7 and 8 of maul was absolutely insane. Actually peak Star Wars, Devon fighting the empire, Icarus’s Savage like death, THE FUCKING FLASHBACKS OH MY JESUS CHRIST… I actually can’t even contain my awe of how perfect those episodes were. I HAVE SO MAY THINGS TO OVER ANALYZE.

She’s been taken away from all she’s ever known, her culture, religion and way of life stripped and banished, and she’s rightfully in a contact state of what I like to call… sad/mad. When I was a teenager I constantly used to say that I was always angry, and I don’t want to be this angry girl anymore (literally Verbatim) for many years.

I feel like Devon expresses that sentiment in the most accurate way. When she’s fighting Maul and he keeps beating her you can see her visually getting increasingly more frustrated, not only the active situation she’s in but the way she can hear that Maul is correct in his berating. When she’s finally had enough she just screams. It’s visceral and real, I really felt that.

Another scene that was impactful to her character was when she tells Master Daki that she’s confused. It’s a genuine and simple statement that everyone understands, so much of what she’s feeling is encapsulated in those words, we as an audience understand that she wants to keep her Jedi morals but isn’t in a place where that is a sustainable way of life, Maul is her enemy but shows her compassion, but also has no problem almost killing her and telling her how worthless she is, but wants her to become his apprentice. It’s all very confusing, being in her position must be hard and… I get it.

With this in mind I present that song from the Salem concept musical “An Idle Brain Invites the Devil in”… that whole song is Maul, it’s straight just his relationship with Palpatine. I don’t want to put all the lyrics from the song here but there’s this specific line that gets me…

Like I think of the comic panels of Maul as a child with Palpatine, or his battle with Savage and him. And how he can never truly escape Palpatine’s teachings, like trying to find a young impressionable appearance, in Ahsoka, now Deven and then Ezra, exactly what Palpatine did with him, bro can literally never escape.

The way I see it, Aziraphale has always been in Crowleys life, LITERALLY since the beginning of time. And Crowleys harbored his feelings for the Angel for just about 3/4ths of it. To me they’re more then just lovers, more then friends it’s even beyond that secret 3rd thing, they were angels together experienced human life for the first time together, stopped Armageddon together (I don’t wanna say “raised” together but that’s kinda the equivalent).

The “heartbreak” (that’s not the right word for it, more like Anguish) Crowley is feeling at this point isn’t even heartbreak it’s literally your second half being essentially taken from you.

No matter what time, where in the world they were they could always call on each other and the only person in all of the universe you could count on, has decided, on his own accord… to leave you. I don’t think Azirphale is in the wrong, I understand all of his traumas and thinking, that being said if that happened to me… I’d also wanna live in a dumpster and never leave too.

So I imagine it would be along the lines of a Bilbo-stays-in-Erebor fic where he’s become consort, and Thorin has kinda lost control with the reconstruction/rebuilding of Erebor (not quite dragon-sickness, but you know how the musical goes where Hades becomes obsessed with making the underworld like the overworld so Persephone will want to stay with him year round)

Bilbo regularly leaves the mountain and visits Dale (maybe because it reminds him of the shire, with more sunlight and greenery, opposed to the darkness under the mountain. He’s just kinda sick of Thorin’s coldness and his inability to understand him) or something. Idk that’s the premise and then maybe it ends with them making up, with the musicals adorable dance scene at the end. Id love to read this fic but I have ZERO writing skills, I’d really love to see someone’s spin on this.
