You know, the problem that shows like Andor introduce to the Empire is that it brings it down to the level of real fascism. The terror, the killing, the slavery, the horror it brings to every day life. And then, you get to proper Star Wars movies, and you finally meet the Emperor. You finally meet Palpatine, the man whose name silences a room, who is spoken of only in hushed whispers. And its this guy
And he's just having the most fun a person can possibly have. He's hilarious. He's the highlight of every scene he's in. People seem to forget how bad the Prequel movies really were the moment they set eyes on him. And its like, really? This is the guy?
But then you turn on the TV, and Donald Trump is telling a room full of seniors about how young he is and how he passed his test where he had to pick out the lion and the zebra and the bear, and it's fucking hilarious, and you realize.
Actually you know what, Anakin does view Obi-Wan as a father figure AND as a brother, Ahsoka is like his daughter AND his sister. Their relationships are so dysfunctional that they can’t even have a regular familial coded bond.
