"I need to check the perimeter"

I'm not even remotely normal about this.

DISCLAIMER: what I am gonna say is NOT adressed at any of my mutuals or anyone specific.

But since this whole mess started in Paris there is a very strange energy in this fandom. There are some posts that have this undertone I absolutely do not like. It feels like some people are just 1 step away from turning Hudson into the villain and blaming him for this clownshow.

Some people say "he gives me the ick now" or "fame got to his head" or " he is playing the Hollywood game ".

And on the surface it may look like this. Not for me, but I understand what people mean.

So I think its very important that people who have this feelings about him now have to consider something :

He is most likely in the closet.

And closeting is a very painful thing.

And closeting means that the person who is closeted, has to do/ is advised to do things that he does not like or that may look absolutely questionable from the outside.

But the closeted person does these things- to protect themselves and their real partner. To have a career. Because unfortunatly Hollywood is still a very homophobic place. And our world in general as well.

Does the person likes to do these things? Absolutely not.

Closeting is a very painful thing for the person who is closeted. It can be a very traumatic experience. And this is not me babying them or being parasocial.

Watch documentaries about people who came out of the closet: Cara Delevigne, Lance Bass, George Michael, Ricky Martin, Kristen Stewart.

They all said the same thing: you cannot be queer in the entertainment industry. The people with power will ALWAYS say, you cannot come out. And threaten you with making sure you will never get any job again,IF you come out. They all talked about the pain and the trauma they experienced.

So the next time people get angry at Hudson for doing all these things we have seen in the last weeks, I want them to remember:

Its the hardest for him. HE has to lie. HE has to live a double life. HE has to live with the fear of being outed. HE is the one " hurting" his real partner ( I am absolutely sure, Connor knows about everything and everything is completly fine between the two of them, but its still not a nice thing to see your partner with another person or knowing your partner sees you with another person).

So maybe we can all give him a little grace .

Yes, I roll my eyes too , but I know that behind every clownshow, there is a lot of sadness. And pain. And stress. And hurt.

I completely agree he’s just so lovely and interesting in podcasts and interviews. That’s the kind of content I would eat up. Maybe the grad pic scandal derailed the plans but I am disappointed we didn’t get an interview post CSA win.

I really wish we will get some in depth podcasts for HR2. I am not against the cute promo videos but ultimately they’re not my thing, I really enjoy deep dives in his brain more.

well, that would’ve meant taking their “relationship” wayyy more seriously than it really was

because that drive is the worst fucking drive i’ve ever taken. i have driven through the carolinas when damn near the entire interstate had been destroyed by a hurricane and that was more enjoyable. it takes half an hour to get out of montreal from downtown, then you got an hour waiting at the border crossing, then three hours of nothing but trees (IF there’s no road work in vermont), then you got that stupid toll road to get into massachusetts, only to exit the interstate and spend an hour going 10 more km into boston. a five hour trip quickly becomes seven because google maps LIES. leaving boston is somehow even more stressful because nobody in that horrible city knows how to fucking merge

the only person i will ever make this drive for is my best friend whom i’ve known since grade 3. hollanov were not even close to that. let’s not forget they weren’t taking whatever they had seriously until like ten years in.
